We will open for applications for everyone November 1st, and have early registration starting tomorrow, October 15th, for returning requesters and past requesters who remained in good standing. Returning and past requesters may also apply after November 1st. 

Please read this post carefully. You may use this post to ask questions, or to comment. Please do not make any separate post, or ask questions anywhere else other than modmail, unless the post welcomes questions. Thank you!

To apply, you will need to read through the rules and Wiki thoroughly, and then you will need to pass our rules quiz.

Incomplete applications may be denied, and you may not have the opportunity to resubmit for the rest of the season. Please make sure you answer each question fully and attach all documentation to your email. This includes the photo and video. Do not submit your application without them. 

No one may post a request until they are approved and specifically told by the mod team that they may do so. Failure to follow this rule will result in a ban, that will likely be permanent.

Those who are approved will also be eligible for Year Long Magic (YLM) 2027, as long as they stay in good standing. This means that your child(ren) will be eligible for assistance with some holidays and their birthdays. YLM 2027 has not yet been finalized, but you can look through our YLM 2026 Post for a general idea of what is included. 

Beginning this season, those approved for Christmas 2026 will be permitted to make a YLM request for Thanksgiving 2026. They will not be eligible for any other YLM 2026 offerings.

For those who are uneasy about applying, we encourage you to read through this post which includes comments from some of our current and past requesters. We want you to know that we want to help everyone who needs help.  While we are highly selective, we wouldn't be doing this if we didn't care, and helping our SFX families makes our holiday so much more special. 

If you are a prospective Santa, please let us know if you have any questions. There are no requirements. We do ask that you comment on posts if you purchase gifts to let the requester know, and when to expect the gifts to arrive. If you wish to remain anonymous, please send us a modmail.

We could not do this without all of our wonderful Santas. We cannot thank you enough for making the magic of the holiday season happen for our families. Christmas morning would not be the same without you, and you are helping our families make memories they otherwise couldn't have. Likewise, Hanukkah would not be so bright.

For Christmas 2026, we are trialing a Dream Gift Wishlist in addition to our usual wishlists.

For Requesters:

Each approved child may have one Dream Gift, up to $75 (in local currency) on a separate wishlist. Children will still be considered to be completely fulfilled without a Dream Gift.

If you have more than one child, please include one gift for each child on the same wishlist, titled "SFX Dream Gifts List 2026". Please label each gift with the child's name. Please post the Dream Gifts link as your last wishlist in your request post. If you are a returning requester, please make sure you have removed all previous wishlists, and do not reuse old ones.

If you choose to request for Dream Gifts, you acknowledge that all of your children may not receive a Dream Gift.

For Santas:

We want to stress that we do not want anyone to feel pressured to purchase any Dream Gifts. We truly believe that our wishlists and all of our wonderful contests are more than enough for a magical Christmas. We have received feedback from Santas that they would like to have options for more expensive gifts for families that resonate with them. If you have a specific item that you'd like to gift, or one that is more than $75, please feel free to completely disregard the wishlist Dream Gift and reach out to the requester or modmail directly.

We always welcome your feedback, but we would especially like feedback about the Dream Gifts addition. This will be particularly helpful toward the end of the season, so we can decide if we continue them in 2027.

We are in FULL Halloween mode over here and so excited! We are going to my daughter's best friends house this year for trick or treating and its gonna be such a blast. I love the theme Evelyn and Melanie picked out- they both want to be cowgirls, and were very insistent that Thomas should be a pony haha.

Happy almost Halloween! It’s officially fall here, and I love it, but I am dreading the colder weather. Trunk or treat is next weekend! I can’t believe it.

Rowen has been doing really well in school. She was named a “star student” for being a good library leader and earned a free ice cream coupon! She loves kindergarten and is excited for school each day. They’re learning about rhymes right now and so she’s constantly singing her rhyming song.

She’s recently discovered Jake and the Neverland Pirates and with it the entire Tinkerbell universe of movies. She has finally decided on being a pirate fairy for Halloween, we’ve gone back and forth between the pirate fairy, a “special blue wish”, and a star (inspired by her being a star student 😅).

She picked out this pirate fairy costume and wand. Her favorite color is pink so thankfully we have a nice warm pink sweatshirt for underneath and she has sparkly sneakers to go with it from her dance recital.

Thank you all for everything you do for our little family. I couldn’t do this without you and I don’t take that lightly. It really means the world to me.

Hard to believe that Christmas stuff is already out in stores, but alas, here we are! It’s getting colder here in TN during the mornings and evenings. After this latest hurricane comes through, I have a feeling the chilly weather will follow! I personally love winter, but my kids love to be outside. So, these items will make that happen for them for a bit longer. ☺️ I got the coat sizes a little bigger because if I get them the size they are now, they will outgrow it before the cold months have passed!

Winter is coming! It’s decided to play peekaboo this week. We’re having 30 degree swings in the same day. Pure Michigan LOL. The nights have gotten cold though so we know it’s time for a coat. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

We’ve finally had our first taste of the cold here in northwest Florida! I am loving every second of it, of course, but December has grown up and slimmed down even more over the summer so she doesn’t have the meat on her bones to keep her warm that I do 😂

It can be hard to think of getting a winter coat when the weather is still mild, but even in Florida we have our frigid days so I picked a jacket I know she will love, and some warm socks because she will definitely need them when it’s not sandal weather anymore:
