SHOWCASE First drop going so well, I've been accused of dropshipping.

Brand: https://prophetbrand.shop/

About a year ago, I rebranded, and around 3 months ago, I released the Magnolia Jacket as my first piece under the new direction. It’s done really well, but since then, I’ve seen people and even entire “brands” reposting my videos and listing the jacket on their own websites as if they’re selling it. Even Alibaba has caught on, posting AI-generated versions of my design. I still have some in stock if anyone is interested!

Honestly, it’s a weird feeling, but I guess it’s somewhat of a compliment. What do you guys think of the jacket?

SHOWCASE I traveled 2500 miles just to get pics of my brand

Me and the homies Jordie, Justin, Josh, Sketch, and Ayden traveled from Florida on a roadtrip to California to photograph my brand at California locations like salvation mountain, LA tunnels and the Hollywood sign. This journey was difficult but I genuinely wanted to showcase my pieces in vibrant locations to felt in line with the brand in a way. All custom one of one pieces made at the crib using vintage and modern garments and patches trom the U.S. and Mexico.
Some pieces were sunfaded, handstitched, screenprinted and took over 10 hrs to create.

12 years in prison gave birth to Oppressionism—and eventually BLACK LABEL streetwear.
From creating art behind bars to launching my own independent brand. This is the story behind How 2 Jail Vol. 1 and the artwork that started it all.
Built from experience. Not manufactured hype.

FEEDBACK Would you wait six weeks for a pre-order?

• Upvotes

I'm launching a lifestyle brand and considering selling a limited quantity of a clothing item initially.

Once sold out, I'd open pre-orders for 7–14 days, then manufacture only what customers have purchased to avoid waste.

Orders would dispatch within six weeks of the pre-order closing date, with delivery taking another 2–3 days.

Would you be comfortable with this process and waiting time, or would it put you off purchasing? Thanks in advance.

SHOWCASE 274 days ago I posted mockups here. Came back with the first real piece I finished.

274 days ago I posted a drop of mockups here. Got a comment that said "letterman fye." That was it. Kept it in my head.

Went back in the lab. As an engineer, I solve problems by working backwards. So I built the brand backwards too. Legal structure first. IP, trademarks, the boring stuff. Then the brand.

The letterman is in sample production now. But the first piece finished is the other one from that drop: a silk carré.

16mm Mulberry twill. Hand-rolled hem. Double-sided print. 90×90cm. Cheetah + moon, chrome palette.

Took it to Greece last week. Nobody asked what it was. Everybody asked where they could get one.

The letterman and scarf drop in December. IG page is maisonveloce. Happy to walk through the process if anyone has questions.

Been quiet for a while, but this is my first project back.

This is “Love Me to Death.” Every doll is handmade by just me—from printing the parts to sanding, assembling, and finishing them.

They’re $50 each and made to order. Available in six colorways: blue, green, pink, white, purple, and yellow.

Available on my website: https://widow-usa.myshopify.com/products/love-me-to-death

What do you think of the finished piece?

DISCUSSION What are your thoughts on bundling art prints with tees?

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I've been working on this heavy brushwork split-face design and am testing out a concept to bundle a matching framed art poster with the tee.

As buyers or brand owners, do you think offering wall art alongside clothes adds real value, or do you prefer buying pieces individually? Would also love to hear your feedback on the graphic itself!

FEEDBACK Been building an artist-led streetwear brand. Keen for some honest feedback.

Hey everyone, I’m the founder of Flash Supply Co out of the Mornington Peninsula in Australia.

We work with tattoo artists and other independent artists to build POD but unique clothing concepts around their work, with the artists earning fair scalable royalties on every piece sold. The idea is that people discover an artist through something they’d actually want to wear, and that artist gets paid when it sells.

I’m building this alongside a full-time job and two young kids, so it’s been a fair bit of learning as I go. Really enjoy it, but I’ve also spent enough hours staring at my own website to lose any sense of what a stranger sees 😂

Would appreciate some honest thoughts on the gear and how we’re presenting it. Does it feel like a brand you’d remember? Does having different artists bring something to it, or does the range need a more consistent direction?

Also keen to hear what would make you hesitate to buy. Designs, pricing, product photos, website, whatever jumps out. Search us up on instagram or at:
flashsupply.co

Not fishing for compliments. If something isn’t landing, I’d rather hear it here and work on it. Appreciate anyone taking the time, and thankyou from down under!

DISCUSSION What apps are you guys using to make your photos look professional?

Long story short I’m a new brand started in February but I need to improve my photos and the way I edit the pictures. My pictures in IG are very natural no filter and I think is not helping me grow in IG. I going to drop my second collection soon. I’ve been selling by word of mouth but I need more social media awareness.

My first collection was very low risk hats. Ofc! Now my second collection is sets of hoodies.

My IG is is case you want to see and give some honest insight https://www.instagram.com/unavailablesociety?cplk=cHJ1M2ZodXBxamFv&utm_source=qr

FEEDBACK We are so back! Need your opinion: Sample 1 or Sample 2?? 🤔

Hello guys! We are Novariv from Japan, posted our first sample (number 1) 3 days ago - and thank you soooo much for the kind feedback

We are now back with our second sample from a different supplier. Some key points: . Both pictures has been taking night time - thus the design looks a bit darker than the first post we made • As you can see the color on the 1st one is red/ orange, 2nd one is dark red/pinkish colors • Weight: 1st one is 908g, 2nd is 853g (not much in difference 50g). • Cotton quality is the same, maybe the 2nd one fees a tiny bit softer on the touch. • Last image is our logo, which will change for every Yokai design we will release.

Please do not hesitate to follow us on Insta and Tiktok @novariv_

Context: the brands called FRTHR, to avoid any confusion on the abbreviation. I originally designed this on illustrator then use a.i to make it look more realistic for feedback as I feel the feedback can be better. Any feedback or questions on this piece would be very helpful 😊

DISCUSSION The Nirvana vs. Marc Jacobs case on trademark and copyright. Can you actually own a simple smiley face design?

Photo from the Marc Jacobs IG

One of the more interesting IP disputes in fashion started with a simple smiley face.

In 2018, Nirvana sued Marc Jacobs over designs used in its “Redux Grunge” collection, including T-shirts, sweatshirts, and socks. The band argued that the designs were too similar to its iconic smiley face logo and infringed on its copyright and trademark rights.

Marc Jacobs pushed back, arguing that the smiley face is a common symbol and questioning whether Nirvana had enforceable rights to the design. Things got even more complicated when Robert Fisher, a former Geffen Records art director, later claimed that he was the one who created the logo, rather than Kurt Cobain.

The two sides eventually settled in 2024, but the terms weren't made public.

For anyone designing or selling merch, a useful takeaway: A graphic being simple, or changing a few details, doesn't automatically make it safe to use commercially. Questions about who created a design, who owns the rights, and how it's being used can get complicated pretty quickly.

For those who've designed or sold T-shirts or other merch, have you ever had to check the rights to a design before using it

FEEDBACK Opinion on this hoodie?

Hello y’all, just wanted an opinion on this hoodie so far! I recently created this logo design back in the spring time and thought I’d use it in the fall/winter for brand consistency. Wanted to drop some matching colored sweatpants but don’t know how to expand on the design without being redundant, drop some advice in the comments!
