Hi y’all!
I’m an incoming steno student in California and I am getting ready to buy my first machine! (eek!) My school gave a list of options, and I wanted to ask if there were any standouts.

The list is as follows (all are recommended to be purchased used):

- Wave Student Writer
- Luminex Student Writer
- Cybra
- Mira
- Diamonte
- Protege

I will say that I’ve been seeing a lot of Protege writers for sale and I’m not sure if that should put me off. Thank you all in advance!
