Problem Slow game Updates

Ive just run into this issue yesterday. Steam updates (downloads/patches) extremely slowly for some reason. Yesterday, i assumed it was a windows update running at the same time because after restarting the download and patch speed went back up. Today, after the Service Error ive seen a lot of people had, its back to this ^

Any idea what might cause it or any similar problems around lately?

It can be so many things try changing download server, make sure the update temp files are not going to an hdd this can happen if for example our game is on ssd but storage is low and will use hdd temporarily to update the game etc.

The game is on an old HDD because its older but it still doesnt take this long. a restart of steam fixed it back to normal slowness... i hope it was just that steam service update and itll just update normally from this on

if it happens again, try clearing steam’s download cache. that often fixes the “updating files” part getting stuck
