Question VRR issue

I'm having issues with my steam machine hooked up through HDMI to my LG c6h. I am getting noticeable screen flickering in games and SteamOS when VRR is enabled. I've tried changing the resolution, brand new high speed HDMI cable, and switching to a monitor with no luck. On the TV itself, ive tried enabling both GSYNC and Freesync which did not help. The only fix is turning VRR which is unfortunate. Any tips on how this can be fixed?

Interesting, I notice the flickering in both the OS menus and games.

Not noticed it in games but then again ive only been play V rising since i turned it on so could be a game by game basis.

May be similar to what I had in Cyberpunk 2077, I've now moved to Beta branch with Proton experimental. In settings on SM resolution set to 4K@120 for the TV type (not automatic) then Max game resolution to 1440p@120. In game open the Steam Overlay and make sure you disable the cap, enable VRR and allow tearing. Getting 60-70fps. With cap enable the image goes very rough, not nice to play. Off and it goes super smooth.

Edit Setting for Cyberpunk 2077 smooth + VRR

I'm using an LG C5

Same issue on TCL QM7k tv, but only noticed while playing Mafia 3. Disabled VRR & it fixed it. Strange the flickering was only in-game, but not in the system menu overlays.
