Was that worth it?
Playing as walsh against nandi, was it worth it popping my gambit turn 1 to get recycling station or should I have grabbed the cutter instead? Sorry if asking like that is not allowed, I'm just curious if I made the right play here.
Also Hi Darwin :)

Here's another opening worth considering, get the Ram. Use it's scrapping ability to get the Command Ship on your second cycle.

Based on that opening Trade Row you are losing that game no matter what. Nandi is guaranteed the Command Ship on their first turn, and if not, definitely 2nd turn. Then they can pick up the Battlecruiser, almost certainly a top deck. After that you are lunch meat! :)
Against Nandi prioritize Trade Row Scrapping so you can kill off those amazing Nandi bombs as best as possible. To counter Nandi specifically add in Heroes 1, Heroes 3, and Year 2 Promos as they cheapen the deck, and add in a lot of TR control which is needed to kill off those big bombs.
Cutter is great in non-Commanders play, in Commanders play it is weak and I don't find myself buying it frequently unless I can pair it with a Bounty Hunter and/or Security Craft (year 2 promos).

Yes they bought command ship on their first turn. Sucks, but I'll still try to play it out and learn something :) I also just got paired against you, looking forward to playing you! But seems rough to be paired against such strong players given I've only started playing online currently at lvl 3

Welcome to the game! I just realized who you were in my match making and I reviewed the game and..... on your first turn you TR scrapped Dreadnaught even though you could have bought it that same turn. That card is insane and wins games, especially with a Deck 1 purchase. After that turn my TR was top tier and I made miracle purchase after miracle purchase and won. Trust me I was winning that game no matter what, my luck was very strong in that game. It's rare, but it happens!
If you are open to changing Commanders try out McCready and Newburg. McCready is very aggressive and ends games fast, and Newburg can kill off 2 cards per deck in Trade Row allowing you to keep some control over what your opponent can buy!
But seems rough to be paired against such strong players
The game features no "match making" since there are not enough players to do so. There are fan leagues and tournaments (BGG, Challonge, Discord) where they try their best to matchmake you as best as possible, however.
Don't feel bad playing against us though! Trust me everyone is super nice and we'll definitely help you get better at the game. It's a very tiny community and no one wants to be elitist since it wont help grow anything.

Thanks for the pointers and GG! I was debating buying the dreadnought or 2 cards instead, I'll keep that in mind for next game. I'm still trying out the different commanders to see which one I like best.

Cutter is just so good. Hard to say, I got a love hate relationship with recycling station.
