There are definitely a few references here and there in the show (SpongeBob’s future grandson has what looks like a game boy in one scene, Patrick in one s1 episode treats Sandy’s computer like a video game, etc) but it’s very rare.

I think modern episodes do references too but eh..they’ll write about anything.

let's settle this once and for all

Just wanna hear y'alls thoughts on which character was at their worse in any episode out of curiosity. No biggie. :)

"How long what?" LMFAO

What the hell is with bras being a constant in Mr. Krabs' life?

Not exactly as spongebob, but exist

In this episode, Jellyfish Fields is destroyed by the construction of Shelly Superhighway, which is initially pitched to the residents of Bikini Bottom as improving commute times and quality of life. Unfortunately for Bikini Bottom, the environmental impacts of the new highway aren’t realized until well after the pitch is made and the highway is built, resulting in Jellyfish Fields being fragmented and ultimately destroyed.

In the United States, large technology companies, developers, and market speculators are proposing data centers throughout the country, often without consideration for the local environment and how the construction and operation of a data center upends local communities, depletes natural resources, and strains power grids, and often in secret.

While hyperscale AI data centers may be pitched as solutions to closing gaps in tax revenue for governments or creating jobs, these pitches overlook the long-term damage on the environment, both locally and globally.

Oh my god I am going to get FLAMED but idc Season 2 is not THAT great. (GOOD just not great)

I BARELY remember this movie, can ya'll explain why it's so hated anyways? Not defending it i'm just curious since i don't really recall the movie all too well and don't wanna rewatch it lol (also why tf does it look like Sandy is pulling Spob by his shlong in the poster lmao)

I may be what they call a spongeboomer(the only post season 3 episode I've watched is season sixes "Not normal") and I just wanted to say even though I thought the best ending for the show was after the first movie I watched the latest movie and I did laugh a lot. I appreciate that a new generation of kids are liking the show and I just have to accept that kids need good media and new episodes provide that. Hope they go back and watch the early stuff but I've made peace with the fact that the show has evolved. Also I'm still blown away by how strong the show's online presence is. Any sponge boomers out there feel the same way?
