Race obstacles
How far in advance do they let us know what the obstacles or are they the same every year for the venues? Also is it hard to transfer spartan race locations for the same weekend?

My brother and I bought trifecta passes at the start of this season but he left for a trip to Europe before completing the Beast. If anyone is interested in a Beast ticket at the Blue Mountain event this weekend please private message me! Don't want the ticket to go to waste :)

Hey all, quick question on the elite group. How strict are they? I signed up only because it was early in the morningš I DO NOT intend to run for time. Hopefully people won't get mad if I slow them down on a obstacleš¬

I am currently 368lbs and have 4 months until Feb for my first Spartan 5K. This is my baseline 5K starting point. I have a long way to go but I wonāt stop until I succeed. Any recommendations on how to get better at things like the monkey bars? That is definitely my weak point and I am thinking that weight loss is the only way to really get better.

Hey good evening everyone - I signed up for the Dallas trifecta with the Beast on Saturday and the Super / Sprint on Sunday morning/afternoon.
I realize now after reading the FAQs (whoops) that I canāt earn the trifecta medal/medallion bc only one race per day counts - and Iām curious if anyone has done this before and if they still give you the shirt/medal for finishing the race?
Or what happens in this scenario.
Appreciate the guidance in advance!

I pre purchased my pictures for my fiancƩ and I. I've received the email to get our pictures and for one I can't seem to even find them or a spot to locate us and every option to find us makes up purchase pictures. How do you get your pictures??

Any one running this? I am from a cold weather area, but have never ran a OCR race this cold. It looks like 27 degrees is a likely starting temp for early Beast. What are thoughts on attire? I run that cold all winter but no obstacles... TX.

I'm signing up for my first race, the Sprint 5K, and I'd like to register my 11-year-old for the Kids 3K. My heat window is 11:00 AM to 12:59 PM, and the Kids race starts at 12:00 PM, so they overlap. I'm a single dad, so it's just the two of us. How have other single parents handled this? I'm not seeing options for race on different days, or choosing heats that don't overlap.

Hello!
I bought a 2026 trifecta pass to use for the SC event for Nov 2026, but wonāt be able to attend it. Is anyone wanting to purchase my pass? Bought it for $243 last year and willing to let it go for $220 at the lowest.
Thank you!

Today I finished my first ever Spartan race and it was a blast: Beast in Lipno, Czech Republic.
One thing which confused me was the total elevation gain of the track. The official document says roughly 600 meters, both watches (different brands) of my friend and myself say it was around 1000m, which matches a race report from someone back in 2019 (The track was somewhat similar). I couldn't find anything on Strava.
Now I was wondering if anyone in this community tracked their beast race today and can confirm if the official document might not be accurate or if our watches are.
Thanks

Our 8 y/o is doing the Kids' 1 km while Dad does the 20 km. Any tips for Mom since I'll be the one going along with Kiddo for his race? I'm guessing we'll want to bring a change of clothes and shoes. And there's a perimeter for me to follow along with, right?

Hello. Competed in Hyrox but new to DEKA. Looking for tickets for the DEKA competition on Oct 31st in Toronto. Anybody looking to transfer for mens open? Iām 34 years old if that matters for age group.
Thanks!

It's my First Beast coming up in Granbury next weekend....whoop whoop. And keen to know if am up to 15 miles running. Should I hit along running this weekend or taper off and do a short one?

Do they only do this race for the world championships? I love the idea of doing just an obstacle race. Iām not good enough to try and compete for a world title but just curious if there are any races more like this. Doesnāt have to be Spartan.

The new medals and their hexes for 2027 were announced on 23.09.2026.
Is there any known information how the hexes will combine and if they have a design behind them to still make a helmet like previously?
Or would there be a new medal showcasing the three separate hex helmets?

I lost quite a bit of weight between signing up for the race and race day. Iām participating in the Lake Nona sprint tomorrow and didnāt even think about changing the size until a friend mentioned it.
Does anyone know if theyāll let you swap sizes at pickup?
Thanks!

I am going to my first spartan this Sunday. I know the event is rain or shine but with these storms rolling in might bring thunder and lightning as well. If that happens do they extend the day and wait it out or reschedule or get credit for the next event?

Im looking for 2 hex destination pieces from this year (2026). The Citi Field stadion and the Vernon. Wondering if anyone out there might either have an extra or can point me in the right direction for either? Thanks!

I am a first timer for any race of such kind. I wanted to get an estimate of the number of stairs I'd need to go up/down in Fenway stadion race in sandbag carry. If someone can put a number on it.

This yearās Las Vegas Spartan was my fifth Spartan Race overall and my third in Vegas. Iāve always loved this event, but moving it to early October was a huge mistake imo. The biggest issue? The heat.
Temperatures were pushing 98-100*+, which made the entire experience unnecessarily miserable and at times, genuinely unsafe.
- No shade for spectators.
After charging each spectator $25 just to attend, providing some shaded viewing areas seems like the bare minimum.
- Racers were passing out from the heat.
Thatās a pretty clear sign that the conditions were too extreme.
- Obstacles were dangerously hot.
Volunteers at certain obstacles mentioned people getting burned, and I personally experienced just how scorching hot some of the metal bars or black wooden blocks were.
- Obstacles were modified or removed.
Certain obstacles had to be adjusted or dropped because of the conditions, which seems like another good indication that this wasnāt the right time of year to host the event.
And then they announced that next yearās race would be held around the same time. Insane. Anyone familiar with the Vegas area knows that early October can still feel like the middle of summer. We donāt typically start seeing consistently cooler weather until November. Moving the race back even a month would make a massive difference. Tbh, genuinely curious why they moved it from early March in the first place. March always seemed like a much more reasonable time to host an outdoor endurance event in the desert.
My younger brothers and I have made the Vegas Spartan a tradition over the years, and itās something we always look forward to doing together. But if they keep it in early October, next year might be the first time in years that we skip it. And that honestly sucks.
I want to be clear that the race itself, the volunteers, and the people involved were great. This isnāt a complaint about the event or the difficulty of Spartan. Itās about scheduling a physically demanding race in extreme desert heat when there are much safer and more enjoyable times of year to do it.
I really hope the organizers reconsider before next yearās event.
Great race. Great people. Horrible time of year.
Curious if anyone else who raced Vegas this year felt the same way.

š Shenzhen
š
October 7
š Zone 3
My first time joining a DEKA FIT event as a referee, and what an experience!
I spent the whole day in Zone 3. Standing for hours was definitely exhausting, but watching athletes push through the stations and give everything they had was incredibly motivating. Seeing everyone keep going, even when they were completely exhausted, gave me so much energy.
Iām really happy to have been part of the event and to experience DEKA from a completely different perspective this time. šŖ
See you at the next one!

Spartan race does it again ! When will I learn to keep my money away from their sticky fingers.
Situation:
I signed up my fiancĆ© for the Lake Nona Sprint this coming Sunday. She cannot attend due to an injury so we tried transferring the ticket to my step son, well they charged my credit card the $37 fee for the transfer but low and behold my step son did not get a code or any emails. We contacted their customer service department and the stupid AI keep regurgitating generic answers and we canāt get a answer from a live person. The cut off for transfer is today so we are probably screwed. Every time we try to do any thing spartan related is a huge hassle. Moral of the story, if you donāt mind giving money away and get poor customer service sign up for races if you care about those things be very mindful when signing up for anything spartan related, if anything happens it will cost you and possibly loose your hole investment.

Hey all. Iām wanting to participate in an April 2027 10k super and deciding whether to enter the competitive or non competitive heat.
For context, I completed a 5k sprint back in April 2024 and was able to complete most obstacles except for the monkey bars and rings. I can comfortably do 10-12 pull-ups but my overall grip strength isnāt great. Iām hoping to challenge myself by doing a longer race this year since Iāve been training a little harder in the gym.
Iām a 22yo male 155lbs who lifts several times a week. Iāll be training to get my endurance and grip strength up in the coming months. Is it worth it to go for the competitive (age group) heat or should I just go with the open?

Looking at doing this next year and trying to figure out where to stay. Has anyone ubered to/from the race venue? The prices donāt look bad from what I can see now and it would be like a 40 min ride. Iām just worried about not having service at the venue or trying to get cleaned up and changed to get in an uber.

Iām doing a Spartan sprint (doubles open) on Halloween. Iāve never done a Spartan race before and Iām so nervous. I feel like Iām totally overthinking this, but I donāt want to be underprepared. I have a billion questions.
What do you wish you knew your first time? What do I need to bring? Whatās unessecary? Should I get trail sneakers? Can I wear my Garmin? What should I wear? Do people dress up on Halloween? I read that chalk is banned now?
Iāll take any advice yāall have.
