Question School’s little snack shop. What should I try next?

I’m a teacher, and our building has a snack shop run by the autistic support class. I went through the fridge today thinking I’d get a soda, but to my delight, found this stash of polars. I tried grape today. What should I get tomorrow? I only ever buy the regular cans, so this is an exciting find.

Review Mastiqua - greek mastima sparkling water

Post image
7 Upvotes

Just arrived in Greece and was offered this delicious sparkling water- more info on their web page, but it seems to be flavored by tree resin. It’s a little bit bitter, and maybe a bit citrusy? Overall, very different and a nice little treat - will definitely pick it up again if I see it around! 💧🇬🇷

* correction to title, it’s mastiha. Not mastima.

Went back to DC to visit family and came back with 12 cases. Sadly I don’t know if it’ll hold me until the next time I go back. I live in Myrtle Beach and nobody here has deals like a 12 pack of 1 liters for $6.49. Also Wegmans has game when it comes to their water.

I entered the Polar winter flavors giveaway a couple weeks ago and kind of forgot about it. I hadn’t been able to find the winter flavors around by me and then I got a DM on Instagram. I hadn’t to make sure it was legit but looks like I get to try the winter flavors and have enough to share with friends who want to try them.

I love all flavors but once in a while I love a plain drink. Damn this is delicious. IMO Kirkland > S. Pellegrino and Perrier

Question Anyone else see this new new from topo chico?

Saw this pop up as my ongoing search for the glass bottles continue...

Kind of feels like a cop out as to why they haven't restocked their glass bottles due to demand. I really just want to enjoy the crisp taste of Topo from a bottle!

Why this and not a restock?! Ughhh

Ingredients: Sparkling Water, natural flavors

Wow!!!!!!! You guys were NOT kidding. It's very, very, very good. Wegman's may officially be my brand now!

I tried the grape because everyone suggested it. It has a nice bite and is loaded with wonderful flavor.

Drink of the day Y’all were not kidding about the Trader Joe’s Green Apple.

I like it even better than Waterloo Grape. It’s seasonal isn’t it? Because of course it is. Trader Joes is such a snotty little brat.

Currently in the UK and found DA-SH sparkling water and it is perfect! The carbonation of Polar and the flavor of a good Waterloo/Polar as well. Going to buy as many as I can carry on to the plane.

Opinion Curious how do “normal people” rank bubbly water?

I’ve always thought of Topo-Chico as the king of bubbly water. It’s effervescent as fuck, makes your ears tingle and eyes water, and when you burp, it’s a clean, satisfying belch. That’s the high we’re chasing with agua con gas.

This seems to be true of pure carbonated water brands, though in varying degrees of strength. Again, TC has the strongest, most robust bubbles, but brands like Mountain Valley, Mineragua, San Pellegrino are all good, but still chasing that high from Topo-Chico bubbles.

Then we get into the LaCroix’s, the Soleil’s, the Spindrifts etc. and something changes. Obviously it’s the natural flavors in the former, and the sugar in the latter, but something else isn’t right. It’s the fuckin’ FOAM!

When I drink these “lower tier” options, and the inevitable burp arises, it’s usually a bunch of foam. So instead of burping, I end up spitting up fizzy bubbles of natural flavors like a fuckin’ newborn.

It’s the worst with Soleil, but LaCroix is another one. Waterloo is straight ASS, respectfully, of course.

How are y’all ranking brands? By the burp? The flavor? The bubble profile?

Review Decent, but not a replacement for the Good & Gather Rainbow Sherbet

Post image
41 Upvotes

Eh. This is fine, but not fantastic. I probably had my hopes set too high. I hoped it was going to be a dupe for the discontinued Good & Gather Rainbow Sherbet (which was soooooooo freaking good). This one is very subtle in flavor and doesn’t taste as much like rainbow sherbet as the G&G.

RIP G&G Rainbow Sherbet.

Review Polar Winter 2026 Flavors Are Hitting Shelves

Post image

I'm in Boston, and a place by work seems to regularly be very early in the distribution.

Tried 2 of the 3:

Pom Lemon is good. Fruity with a light finish. Nothing amazing but solid.

Ginger Yule is a surprise! I do think it's different from Ginger Mule (and way better imo). The ginger is juicier rather than hot, and it has a subtle backbone and finish of fruit punch that almost reminds me of Juicy Fruit.

Really looking forward to trying Lingonberry Citrus tomorrow!

Lingonberry update: it's nice. Subtle lush berry up front, tangerine/lemon finish. It is a different citrus note than the pom lemon.

I'd probably put Ginger Yule top, then Lingonberry, then pom. Lingonberry might be the one that best works alongside a meal.

Miscellaneous Nixie Peach Black Tea sparkling water has been discontinued

Post image
39 Upvotes

A few weeks ago I sent an email to Nixie support asking when the Peach Black Tea would be restocked. It was the only caffeinated sparkling water with no added sweeteners that I could ever find, especially since Target discontinued theirs. They finally wrote back and unfortunately said it’s been discontinued.
