Questions Quality question
Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone here has experience with this and could tell me a bit about the quality. How good is it overall? Is it well-made and durable, or does it feel cheap? I'd really appreciate any opinions or personal experiences. Thanks in advance!

I mean the quality of what? The models are great apparently it’s supposed to be a slightly softer plastic than main gw but I didnt notice it at all when building them and the detail is the exact same too, as for the game it seems fine to me normal cardboard for the tokens and the cards and game board seem normal too

the quality of the minis is the same as the ones that came in the Indomitus box. its just red plastic this time.

Haven't actually built and painted them, but when inspecting the sprues, they were exactly what I'd expect from GW. As far as I can tell, the plastic is exactly the same as for any other model, just with some red pigment in it.
Given that the sprue is identical to the expensive "Honoured of the Chapter" kit, I'd say that this box is the best deal you'll ever get for anything official from Games Workshop.

Just got this box, the sprue is identical to the one In the 9th edition box.
The dyed plastic feels a little different to me. Slightly harder and less easy to cut, but it is pretty close to the gray plastic GW usually uses.

It’s just GW plastic but red (and a lot, lot cheaper than getting the models any other way directly from GW. No drop in quality other than being monopose.)

The original sprue was monopole aswell

OP’s asking for quality of the minis, and some people might see monopose as one detriment.

These are highly quality models and well worth the prices if you’re in the states, in every target I’ve been to it’s $49.99

It is just the same as in the edition starter box, only in red plastic instead of grey. Just as Hachette has blue plastic…

What? Must be country related I suppose? Or maybe tied to older collections? I have all of the Stormbringer collection in my Pile of Shame and all of the issues that came out in France so far for Combat Patrol, all of them are in the usual grey plastic.

Hachette uses normal grey GW plastic

No. Depends on the release.
Some of the AOS stuff I have is gold or even jade plastic, and they've blue ultras etc.

The box has a built in mini holder as well as compartments for all the cards, the game play is pretty good too! Plus you’re getting 150$ worth of minis for 50 bucks

The models are high quality pushfit gw plastic, just in red. Tokens and board are in good gw cardboard haptics. The data cards and so on are like the same gw quality like the others. Also the good old white mini d6 which I personally like. Have not played it yet but wanna try it with my daughter soon when the models are painted. For me eaven the dice and the minis are worth it.

The minis in it are official 40k Minis intended to be used in the tabletop. if you were to by them in the box they cost you 140€ instead 30€ like in the boardgame. So if you want to collect Space Marines (or already are) this is one of the best deals you can possibly get.
Just keep in mind that the minis are pushfit, not multipart, so harder to convert into specific chapters. I had to clip, sand and shave a hole lot to make them look less ultramarine and more space wolves.

A great way to max out your bladeguard and melta eradicators of your don’t mind repeat poses.

I’ve built and painted the entire box and I can definitely say that the plastic is softer. When clipping it off the sprue it tended to pinch rather than snip the way the gray does using the same clippers. On the plus side the mold lines came off a lot easier using a blade or a sanding stick and when drilling out the barrels, the plastic tended to flake so there’s absolutely a difference. Whether it varies in the UK or the US versions I can’t say.

The colored plastic is a bit lesser quality than your typical GW grey plastic but not very noticeable.

They are perfectly great. I would suggest cutting off the push fit parts, and glue them like usual models.

I bought the box and assembled the minis. They work about as well as an other launch-of-edition models. They look pretty good, assemble easily enough, though a few bits are.a bit small and finicky. As long as you take your time clipping and don't go full gorilla mode you'll be fine.
Worse case scenario it's super cheap to replace.
Semi related, I played a few rounds of the actual board game. It's alright for a sort of "casual kill team PvE" feel.

I assume you're referring to the minis, but they're comparable to any other GW minis. They'd fit in just fine with any of their regular offerings.

Overall, the models are great, the eradicators are a pain to build though. A lot of gaps and sometimes, the left arms don't line up with the hands on the meltas. No multimelta in the kit is also a minor inconvenience. Still, it's a great deal that makes my minor grievances with the push fit models something I can easily overlook. Case in point, I bought two copies of the board game

There’s a whole bunch of misinformation around (luckily not on this post, at least so far) about the non-grey plastics being lower quality - it’s bollocks, it’s just a different colour but is otherwise the same stuff and same quality.

It’s definitely a lower density plastic but functionally it’s perfectly fine

u/ontherocksnosalt Salamanders 4h ago
Agreed, definitely softer and easier to scuff by accident, but still absolutely quality minis at a great price

u/Ruthrfurd-the-stoned Dark Angels 10h ago
It’s definitely a cheaper plastic but once they’re all painted uo you cant really tell
For like 1/3 the price it is beyond worth the cheaper plastic

the game is great for what it is. had a few fun nights with it (GW captured me with it--- like intended. Now I´m 1500 pts deep in my first army). The minis are push fit but normal GW quality. All in all: great deal all around!
