Discussion Second Hand Doc Martens
Hey everyone!
As someone who's always on the hunt for preloved/second hand items, I've noticed a large influx of sellers on marketplaces like Yaga selling tons and tons of second hand Docs in varying conditions.
Does anyone know where these second hand shoes are coming from?
There are far too many constantly being listed for it to be a case of the odd person here or there reselling their shoes - and the accounts are all shoe-based listings, indicating some kind of the wholesale acquiring.
Just curious if anyone knows (and a tad jealous), because for obvious reasons - resellers won't disclose their sources

Most logical explanation is fakes

Fakes is definitely an option, but of the three I've purchased so far they're authentic (done all my thorough checks).

I think there are loads of Yaga sellers buying those European bales/bundles of unwanted goods that are shipped to Africa. I think most/ a lot of them are genuine. There are lots of Birkenstocks bundles, coat bundles, leather handbag bundles being sold this same way. Mostly genuine in my opinion, not sure where they're sourcing them from.
That being said - there are also LOADS of Yaga sellers selling counterfeit Adidas, Nike, etc - like their whole stores are just fake crap straight of China. Also lots of counterfeit LV, Celine, Prada, Gucci being sold as 'pre-owned' or 'vintage' which I believe are purposely being aged using chemicals etc to disguise the fact that they're just fakes.

I was also thinking of bales just based on the large quantity of specific yet also variation that they display on their pages. For instance, the one seller that I buy from sells completely legitimate Docs (thoroughly checked by me post purchase) but also has a large variation of other name-brand genuine leather shoes. It's a shame that it'd essentially be buying a very expensive and large blind box lol
And for sure, if you don't have a good eye it's so easy to get duped

I'd love to know how the genXers are connecting with these sellers tbh
