Collage for our living room

Made from books, magazines, and random promotional mail :-) I tried to include lots of our favorite things, places we’ve travelled, and inside jokes ! It’s sort of messy because it was my first larger sized one but I had a lot of fun making it and I love how bright and colorful it is :-)!!!

Mother and Baby Nursing Paper Cut

I am a fulltime nursing mom of a 3month old baby and I finally found my creative mojo back to create this papercut. I am thrilled with the outcome and cozy vibes. I could really put my emotions in this one after these past 3 crazy months. Are there nursing moms out there with more ideas that show the beauty or struggles of nursing? I'd already love to work on a new idea.

I used thin carton. I lifted some parts with sticky cushions (what are they called??) for a bit more depth.

u/wasraelx posted their warm light appreciation college and I was inspired to post my cold LED light appreciation. My brain goes all hazy in warm low lightning and I cant see . But I love sterile, harsh lighting

Thanks for the inspo wasrealx!

Found a Shawl at a thrift store. But I don't wear shawls.

DETAILS:
While out thrifting I came across this yellow embroidered shawl, and hot damn I couldn't stop myself. It was whispering to me. What was it saying? 'Drink some wine and make something. Ignore your responsibilities'. And that's just what I did. My electricity might be off, but my fashion is ON!

My shirt pattern comes from an old shirt that I deconstructed. Honestly the easiest and cheapest way to get a pattern. I cut along each seem, take mental notes (and promptly forget them, due to the wine), and boom! Pattern. I recommend tracing it onto some butcher paper. I don't know why, but like my old manager says, "extra work is fun. But don't feel joy. Joy is for the elite."

Unfortunately there was no way to match the patterns symmetrically due to the nature of the shawl, and my own laziness and impatience. There are some construction mistakes (mostly unevenness and symmetry) that I wish I'd corrected but if we're talking past regrets and mistakes, that one doesn't even make the list.

Total time was roughly 4.5 hours of sewing, or roughly 6 episodes of the show 'Carrie', that are confusing because you're sewing and not paying attention to the plot, and your husband gets frustrated because you keep asking questions about what's going on with the 'Psychic Laura Ingalls Wilder', and also because there's a Singer Heavy Duty buzzing away on the other side of the living room, but you refuse to take it upstairs because you simultaneously want to spend time with your loved one and also completely ignore him in pursuit of crafting.

I don't know exactly what the fabric is, but it feels and looks like a Gaberdine. I started with maybe 2ish yards of the fabric and 3/4s of a bottle of wine and used both in their entirety for this shirt.

Family friend asked if I could make Mario planter pots, so I did. All experimentation with trimming tool. May the kiln be gentle and the students that load the kiln 😳

Peggelino Sprinklehelm was once a tiny harbour pup who lived for ice‑cream festivals. During a chaotic summer storm, he slipped on a fallen scoop, crashed into a crate, and wound up with his trusty wooden leg. Later, a misfired sprinkle cannon crowned him with the splattered scoop he still wears proudly. Now he roams the harbour, one leg, two cones, and a forever‑sticky helmet — the sweetest little hero in town.

Really happy with how these hazel plaques turned out. Love when a finished craft keeps it's rustic vibe.
