Quotes Jose Mourinho "The bad first half is the manager's fault; the good second half is the players' fault."

I wish bro had a twitter. But if he spoke he would be in trouble.

It wouldn't be the same if he was crying contsantly on social media, but you get his full saved up consternation in the interviews and pressers

I mean, one day, he will retire. I think he either goes and lives a completely quiet life, or he'll be on every talkshow for every league every week.

You can't convince me that he doesn't wander around with a fake account, stirring up discussions lol

Ngl, this one goes hard.
I blame him for starting Vini and the midfield we had. But also credit to him for his subs.

That’s called managing, like it or not, he’s one of the few real ones left out there doing it, man is legit.

Do you mean that he can make man age?!
My brain is ruined, i can't read managing without thinking about the man-aging speak from Rosenior

Maybe it's cause I'm not from the UK but I can't wrap my head around why that small bit of word play was such a big deal. Is it a cultural thing?

The UK absolutely fucking hates people acting "above their station". Anyone saying anything that seems like they're trying to be clever will be torn apart. This is absolutely a cultural thing.
This bit of wordplay from Rosenior doesn't really make sense, and because he's trying to be a little bit clever, he got torn apart. As the other poster said, he also had the issue of failing. We can just about tolerate clever people trying to be clever but a thicko failure trying to be clever? Fuck off.

do you think he would regret benching a player on the level of Pelé and Maradona and not do it if it were today?

What the fuck does this even fucking mean?!? Hes one of the few managers...making subs??
Every day I see some boomer-level nonsense about him on here and get ragebaited. Hes not been a good manager for a long, long time. Hes clearly off the pace. But people are still leaving comments like 'football doesnt understand Mourinho' because he was their favourite manager like 10-20 years ago.
Imagine how much people would enjoy Pep failing for a decade. He would be ridiculed so hard. So why are there still comments sucking this chronic loser off?

If Pep failed for a decade, there would still be comments sucking him off too, that's the thing with legendary coaches

He’s not wrong.
People were slagging him off when they were down but only the impact subs who were clutch got the credit lol

He's right about the first part for sure. The Fede-Tchou double pivot has been atrocious every single game he's played them, and Vini really needs to sit out some games. That's on him

Only true followers of Cruyff know the reason why the win doesnt make up for the disgraceful performance. Fortunately Madridistas will never understand and never build a functioning football system

It’s like clockwork. Just one when of their fanbases seems extremely cringe, the other says “Hold My beer”

It takes resilience to come back from being 3-1 down at 82 minutes. Roma are not a Sunday League team.
Not giving up and turning it around is not a disgraceful performance by any means.

I mean it's not like they came back with excellent passing game and through passes or whatever. 3 corners, 3 crosses, and it just kept working.
Props to them still, but resilience and all is kinda not how they got there.

u/sononoson 46m ago
It wasn’t just the corners, Madrid had like 5-6 great chances once Arda and Endrick came on, everyone looked better.

not having a system seems to work in the champions league apparently

u/cold_plmer 7h ago
If there is one thing you cannot criticize real for lol it's their champions league performances. Year after year they play kind of like shit but still somehow pull wins right out of their asses like today. At some point you kind of just have to accept that their voodoo magic works in the cl

Im interested to see how madrid fair without vini for the upcoming league matches. I feel like this combination of mbappe and vini in the same team needs to finish as an experiment and just admit it.

I'm sorry but it wasn't really really his tactics that made his team score three corners in 6 minutes, were they? And it is his fault the starting 11 didn't include Espi and Guler. Had Madrid played liquid football in the second half and scored three great goals from open play I would agree with him, but that just wasn't the case.

u/marco17872 3h ago
Corner goals can still reflect tactical work: delivery, runs, blocks, and second-ball positioning are all part of the plan. You can criticize the starting XI and still give him credit for the set pieces.

They played a lot better, even if the goals came from corners. They played with more intensity.
Also, Vinicius is suspended in the league so it's good squad management to start him here and start Arda in the next league match.
