I guess I won't be crushing cans tonight.

Cute little Carolina Wren flies in and pounces around outside my porch before finding a sleeping spot under the outdoor light. Very fluffy. It's so cute because I'll be outside chilling and then I watch it come in and nestle up for the night.

My husband and I found this sleepy little guy who was napping on out patio. We did not mess with it or get closer than necessary to access the door (we used zoom for the pic). I have never felt so honored by a visitor in my life!

Edited to fix grammar

Back porch sleepy wren for the third time this year!

This little cutie sleeps on our front door & has startled my son many times when he’s coming in after work. It even flew in the house once and perched on the window shades for a second before flying back out. It’s finally staying put while he gently opens the door ❤️

He/she taking Shelter under my front porch here in lower Okaloosa County. You can see sideways rain and a sparking transformer in the background. Winds gusting at 75mph. I like to think she is bringing my home good luck.

Here's more photos of that wren and the praying mantis.

I sent this photo to a friend and he recommended me this sub. Bonus Praying mantis.

This wren is coming and going and nestling into this spider web. We’ve gotta get out there and clear the webs but until then is she in danger there? She seems to be choosing to sleep there.

My partner was the incredible detective that identified them and pointed me to this subreddit.

Scared me the first time I saw it.

Got my lil wren buddy a house and apparently it’s not good enough for it 😂

It’s gotta be a Carolina Wren right?? I’m obsessed with the way it sleeps like it’s in time out.

I was worried that a bird had gotten stuck or injured at first, but after some research found all the info on Carolina Wrens and their habits. I absolutely adore being a safe place for him to rest, what a lil nature blessing! ❤️

(We have a motion sensing light that came on, so it was already on when he pulled the car in, fyi. No sleepy wrens were intentionally disturbed.) My husband sent a pic and said, “I thought it was a hornet nest at first, but saw the fluff and knew you’d know.” 😂 I immediately knew it was a sleepywren! So I RAN out to meet him in the carport and got a quick pic!

And I finally got to use some useless knowledge too 😜 Longtime admirer, first time poster 🤣

got so scared it was dead at first and touched it with a stick and scared it 😭😭 but it came back 🩷🩷

Hung up my daughter's hat on the porch to dry and the wrens have adopted it as a roost every night, now I don't have the heart to take it down.

Started as one a few nights ago. I wonder how many can fit up there??

The 3 has now turned into 4!! Let's see how many they can get!

I went under my porch for something and stumbled across this sleeping beauty. Took me a second to realize what I was looking at lol.

Sorry for the bad quality but is this a wren defying physics? There are a couple little mud things it could be sitting on, but this is literally at the very top corner of my porch, also I didn't think wrens could have split tails.
