American healthcare isn’t bad just expensive

15

u/AverageLAHater Sussy Wussy Femboy😳😳😳 8h ago

Depends on the insurance. I’ve gotten multiple x-rays and been to the hospital a couple of times for sprains. Only paid like 50 bucks for that visit. Wisdom teeth cost nothing for me

99

u/EasilyRekt 10h ago

I mean… what’s the difference between bad & so expensive that people refuse to use it?

Either way, it’s not doing much good for you…

-25

u/TheLastTitan77 8h ago

Most of ppl have insurance and use it tho

15

u/EasilyRekt 8h ago

...bruh like if you can... if it don't get denied out the gate, and if it ain't actually cheaper without it most times... like huh?

1

u/TheLastTitan77 6h ago

We seriously pretending no one is getting healthcare in US huh

9

u/EasilyRekt 6h ago

don't like... 38% of insured americans put off healthcare due to cost? that's not an insignificant portion of people willing to let things get worse to avoid dealing with their insurance :/

5

u/Cuddlyaxe 6h ago

It's not an insignificant portion, but the point is a lot of people do have it

You were asking "what is the difference between bad and so expensive people refuse to use it?". But like the majority of the population does use the healthcare, and the quality of that healthcare is really good

The majority of Americans actually generally satisfied with their health coverage after all. Like a lot of problems in this country, healthcare outcomes are a problem of inequality. If you are middle or upper class, you will probably have fairly high quality healthcare. The lower middle and working class are just sorta fucked though

1

u/dinkpantiez 3h ago

Id say that a healthcare system that is only accessed by upper middle class and above is a bad healthcare system. Not to mention upper middle and middle class do not exist, its working class and elite class now.

-2

u/TheLastTitan77 6h ago edited 5h ago

So vast majority has access to fast and good healthcare? Huh almost like it was exactly my point.

Listen I'm not saying US healthcare isn't crazy expensive or that it's a good system. But many countries (mine included) have "free"(more taxes) healthcare that is basically unusable most of the time due to the wait and incompetence. And if there is smth difficult to be done ppl here have to fundraise money to go to US. So dont tell me US healthcare is bad

americans on average spend more on healthcare than scandinavian countries do.

-23

u/FewHorror1019 8h ago

Speak for yourself brokie

6

u/Ortsmeiser 9h ago

American healthcare is bad because the absurd cost completely neutralizes any advantage the quality could possibly get you in terms of overall health outcomes. Practically dead last in overall healthcare metrics for developed countries. I’d sooner praise North Korea for their fantastic nutrition (it’s very good once you exclude the icky poors and only count the elites)

-38

u/Proof-Necessary-5201 11h ago edited 10h ago

Sure buddy, keep telling yourself that, lol

EDIT: wow, people are hammering that downvote button, lol.

Look, I'm not American, but I don't like the US, so I might be biased. I've seen videos of people escaping from ambulances to avoid paying 1000s of dollars just for a ride to the hospital. Now correct me if I'm wrong, I doubt a US ambulance is better than other ambulances from around the world. Saying that it's just expensive doesn't cut it.

I also know that insurance companies refuse a lot of legitimate cases, so it's not just cost, there are systemic problems here.

Anyway, f the US and enjoy downvoting 😘

10

u/69redditfag69 10h ago

US leads innovative medical research by far. just a fact

16

u/Not-Reddit49 11h ago

You think the richest country in the world is going to have shitty healthcare with some of the best researchers and universities?

Yes it’s expensive and it’s a big issue but the quality is not bad

7

u/EasilyRekt 10h ago edited 10h ago

Tho tbf, they also try to find excuses to pinball you between half a dozen specialists and call you the closest thing they legally can to hysterical if you hurt their nerd ego by already have a name for whatever you’re experiencing for whatever reason.

Urgent and emergency care is still top notch tho 👌

13

u/MorbillionDollars Literally 1984 😡 10h ago

The advantages are a low wait time and high quality care. The disadvantages are crippling debt.

If you can afford it then it's great. If you can't then you're fucked.

u/sadistic-salmon BUILD THE HOLE BUILD THE HOLE 11h ago

The healthcare is actually the best part there. It’s really good, it just costs a lot

19

u/Substantial-Trick569 11h ago

yeah the rule with healthcare is "it can be fast and cheap, cheap and good, or fast and good. but never all 3"

5

u/Galactic_Crypto William Dripfoe 10h ago

So expensive that nobody can use it, does that really make it good healthcare?

1

u/Chaps_Jr hole contributor 6h ago

Veey few people can afford a Rolls-Royce, but that doesn't make it a bad car.

1

u/ComedicMedicineman dwayne the cock johnson 🗿🗿 5h ago

It’s good. I wouldn’t say “really good” unless you’re willing to enter lifelong debt for it.

It basically puts you on par with a few fairly successful medical systems across the world ( it the best, but certainly fairly high), but you have to pay way more for it, and the really good stuff is out of reach for 90% of the population.

Zionism and genocide

-3

I doubt the average person in israel is commiting any form of genocide. Probably too busy filling out HR surveys

7

u/TrostnikRoseau Big chungus wholesome 100 3h ago

The majority support it and are complicit. IDF service is mandatory for many. The system is set up so that Palestinian suffering is a foundational element of their society, so the only way for an Israeli to not be complicit is to leave
