Emulators Trying to run Brain of the Dead and need help

First time trying to emulate a x68000 game and I'm trying to run Brain of the dead through RetroArch, the rom comes with 5 disks in the DIM format and when running the first disk I get the message "Drive is not Ready". Do any of you guys know how to deal with this?

You mean Dead of the Brain? Assuming you have the core configured correctly, I believe you need disk A in drive 0 and disk B in drive 1, then reset the machine.

retroarch is not an ideal x68 emulator.

xm6g is better, though the controller configuration dialog has been broken for several versions now.

XEiJ is good, too, but has more sync issues in my experience.
