This is what my deck looks like today. First time I opened it since 2012. Can you let me know thoughts on how the game progressed since, how the deck compares to current standards etc? Just curious but willing to give it a try!

Not sure what the problem is. I have the latest update.

Hello wanted to ask is support email still active? Because web look a bit broken at least mobile version, so wondering is devs and support still active?

I saw in settings the Web API key generation but I don't see any information as to how to utilize that. Is there a doc somewhere? I'd love to see what connections can be made and utilized!

I loved this game for a long time. I could deal with the scrappy AI art.

But Recently its became buggy as hell. Some cards are so bugged that they end the match or the card doesnt do what it says. Its just a complete mess and its just not fun anymore.

Have the devs given up?

Hi everyone ! I just joined the community after a long time as my father was Kipthorp a long time player who passed away a few years ago and this game has brought back so many good memories. It’s sweet to see his old messages online. Looking for any tips on how to play successfully ! My user is lilkipthorp.

I’ve noticed what seems to be a recurring pro Trump sentiment within parts of the Shadow Era community, particularly through reposts on platforms like X and Facebook, as well as during certain giveaway events.

I’m curious has anyone else observed this, and is there a particular reason for it? Is it reflective of the developers’ views, a segment of the player base, or just coincidence based on social media activity?

I’d be interested to hear different perspectives, especially from long-time players or those more involved in the community.

I'm wondering how many of the Dark prophecies physical cards have a foil version? All of them? or a select subsection just like in call of the chrystals? If so, how many and which ones?

I used to play quite a while back but lost my account.

Is it worth returning to the game with a new account?

Is the game still alive? Is the meta healthy? Who is a good shadow hero/deck?

I understand Art costs and AI is good for this but some of the new Art doesnt seem to match the dark theme.

Competitiveness seems to have taken a dive.

Lots of long time players left.

Takes so long to find a match now.

No updates in a long time.

Ridiculous alt art hero's that dont match the lore.

Horrible cheese AI music that forces me to play muted

Perverted custom mats

The list goes on......

Did you know that Shadow Era has an official Discord server, with the main in-game Global Chat mirrored there in the global-chat channel along with many sections and channels to discuss all kinds of things?

Here is the invite link: https://shadowera.com/discord

(New cards as well, but this thread is about balance changes.)

Nothing is set in stone (i.e. coded up for release) yet, so there is time to have your say.

Let’s hear your thoughts and try to be constructive and not fight with each other. We all love the game and want the best for it!

The password reset function is currently not super reliable due to mail from the shadowera.com domain being blocked by some email clients. (We are trying to sort this.)

Meanwhile, have no fear, as I can help!

If you can remember your in-game name and email address, here’s an easy way to get back into the game.

1. You get the latest client and choose Create Account with the same email except a minor change. (The email address does not need to exist. Adding 2 after .com is fine.)

2. You set the password to be what you want.

3. You DM me on Reddit with the old email and new email and confirm your in-game name.

4. I read your DM and send you an email from my personal email address to the old email.

5. You reply, thus confirming you own the account.

6. I receive your reply and then copy your new password over your old one. I email you to confirm all is done.

Note: My parts won’t be instant as I’m a busy man with a busy life, but I’ll aim within 24 hours total. Feel feel to DM me to remind me if it’s taking too long. I will add 500SC to your account for each day it takes beyond 24 hours.

Hope this all makes sense! Let me know if not.

BACKGROUND

Ships were introduced in v4.95 and their mechanics were designed by me (Ian Bolton). As the designer, I’m best placed to explain all the rules so here you go:

SHIP RULES

• Ships are a new type of item.

• Like weapons, you can only control one ship at a time. If you summon another, the first is destroyed.

• Ships can have allies aboard as crew, shown like attachments, but they are still allies.

• Ships can be destroyed like other items and usually have durability.

CREW RULES

• Usually a ship has an activated ability for an ally to join the crew.

• Allies in a crew are not targetable normally. Only by cards that reference an “ally in a crew” or “ally in your crew”.

• Ally passive abilities are not active while in the crew, unless they specifically mention being in the crew or joining the crew.

• Only ally cards can be in the crew; if another card type became an ally, it can’t join your crew. (Think of the crew like bestowing capabilities onto the ship rather than having them personally.)

• When your ship leaves play, all crew are shuffled into your deck and then you draw a card for each that was shuffled in. NOTE: This is a temporary ruling and will change in a future update. (The original behaviour was all crew go back to your hand up until max hand size and the rest go into their owner’s graveyards.)

• Unique applies to crew as well, so you can’t have an ally in your crew and in play at the same time.

FEEDBACK

Do you like ships and pirates? I won’t be offended if you hate them, but please keep in mind that the game owner’s vision was for ships and pirates to be added to the game somehow and I did my best to accommodate. :)

That the developers, designers and owner are incredibly accessible to chat to directly on Telegram/Discord or in-game. Any feedback or ideas you have are valued and listened to.

Just direct your comments nicely to owner/designer/developer and you should get a reply within 24 hours. (This is a global game and sometimes people are asleep.)

You can also post here and it will get their attention. Thanks for reading and for playing Shadow Era.
