Yh though this might be a hot take but I think remy is worse than both or equal tbh ,Sean is only considered bottom 2 because he has a bad shoto kit. Which is a good kit ,twelve is just very risky but remy imo dosent have much or anything rather
Remy sucks for sure, but Sean/Twelve are way worse. Japanese player Pierrot can beast with Remy. He OCVd a monster team (Kuni, SHO, Boss, Nuki, Yomoda) once in the Japanese finals. We will never see anything like that with Sean/Twelve.
Remy is better than them. He just needs meter to get things done and fireballs are worthless in this game. He gets no meter from them. 12 can be really tricky but Sean has to take so many risks and his frames are just awful.
I think theyre all bad in different ways so its hard to cherry pick pieces of their kits and compare them. Remy is tied with akuma for lowest stun bar in the game so its absurdly easy to dizzy him. I think Remy is ok if you play perfectly but if you get hit once you explode. Some of his normals are dogshit like fMK and his cMK I wanna say is like -5 or -7 which is horrible for a move that cant even cancel. I think hes just very limited combo wise so his damage is very low. I dont actually think his booms are that bad even when parried it causes a lot of parrystun which allows remy to do some fake mix stuff or shimmy. CBK is purely a scrub buster move its like temu tiger knee its really bad. If you crouch block and its perfectly spaced he could try to shimmy or frame trap I guess but if you play him enough youll just parry this or stop respecting it. The worst he can do is like a mostly safe one into EX flash kick which who cares thats not that much damage. I think Remy just needed a bit more combo potential his stuff is way too situational and jank (chp or jhp air-to-air combos).
Sean's special moves fucking suck donkey balls and his normals are either ok/on par with the others or worse in almost every capacity. Most of his special moves kinda suck axe kick is very slow and reactable. Tornado is really unsafe and people fall out of it sometimes when theyre hit. I think it has some consistency issues baf probably covered in his video I dont recall. IIRC Hyper Tornado had two stocks in 2i and was really strong so they took one away. It's still a very good super but being a one stock super sean really needs EX because his special moves fucking suck otherwise. I forgot to mention he has the worst dp of the shotos I think you can throw him out of most of them and I think his EX one is still pretty underwhelming. None of them have much forward mobility so theyre kinda jank to aim as well. He's also the only shoto without a fireball which you think fireballs maybe arent good in 3s but like thats not really true they serve a purpose theyre just not the same as ST. Sean not having one definitely hurts him and no the fucking basketball doesn't count.
Twelve is an extremely limited character. I wouldn't say his normals are terrible (although Im pretty sure sHK is punishable on hit by like chun and a few people) and obviously his jump heavies are very strong. Twelve has pretty dogwater hp I dont know exactly where he is in the standings but its pretty close to the bottom. He doesnt really have a great option for supers xcopy is a meme and I generally only see people use XNDL or however you call it. He has very limited conversion options for comboing and a lot of his normals arent cancellable at all. The super does a ton of chip though so it turns into an ibuki type thing where you just burn it to cheese people or spend the meter cheesing people with EX squiggly arms. Twelve idk his exact hitbox data but most people get very strong juggles on him from the way he falls and his hitbox so I think that kinda works against him. I think his ground game kinda sucks even though he can low profile things by walking his heavies are very unsafe and risky he doesnt have a lot of great options for confirming into super either which is sort of a staple of this game.
Honestly I think they all kinda suck in different ways and are relatively close in range its kinda pointless to obsess over the details.
Twelve's not the worst character, he just not very fun to play against, and has a very unique play-style to play optimally, so not a lot of people want to invest the time, and upset most of their opponents by running away for 90% of the game.
I think a lot of the non-typical (ken, ryu, akuma, chun-li, yun) characters are fun. Nothing against the main characters people play, but it's nice to see some mix up especially with less common characters like Sean, Q, Necro, etc.

Jwong had a video of him playing the CPU with Sean, the worst character in the game. Worst character has to be Twelve right?
