Another reminder to Stay on topic – r/SexOver50 is not r/Sex NSFW

Hey everyone,

There has been an increase in posts that might be better suited for r/sex or other subreddits rather than r/SexOver50. While we welcome open discussions about intimacy, relationships, and issues related to sex over 50, this sub is not a general space for all things sex-related.

Before posting, please consider whether your topic is specific to the experiences, concerns, and perspectives of those 50 and older. If it’s a broader conversation about sex that isn’t age-specific, r/sex or one of the many other sex-related subreddits might be a better fit.

Also, if you’d like to share a personal sexual experience, please post it as a comment in the weekly sex report rather than starting a new thread.

Thanks for helping keep this community focused and supportive!

Porn vs erotica NSFW

Used to be avid porn watcher, a result of a sexless marriage but it does get tedious.

I came across a erotic literature site and find it way more stimulating

Can use imagination more and use erotic storyline with real memories

Oral sex question. NSFW

I’ve got a question for the ladies in regard to you receiving oral sex. Do you ever tell your partner to STOP licking you because you’re too sensitive? I’m not talking about stopping for a moment, but stopping altogether. Of course I lick for her pleasure, but also for mine, and I always feel like I’m getting ripped off because I don’t want to stop! How do you handle this situation?

Yup still at it at 63, omg that makes me a wanker for 50 years. Early on it just felt good, then I read an article that said regular tossing off was great for your prostate and greatly reduced your chances of the dreaded prostate cancer. Shit, I'll start 2x a day just to be safe lmao.

And its so easy, just my imagination and Mrs Palmer.

And ive been married 35 years, it takes great skills to rip off a quick one while lying next to the missus

I recently found a fwb who loves watching, and load all over her, great stuff.

So fullas, no shame, get tossing and put some life back in your old fulla.

Great tip, 5mg daily ciallis ( generic is way cheaper ) will transform your life and its actually really good for you wole vascular system

Am I the odd one for wanting a partner that keeps her pubic hair? NSFW

For context, I'm a widowed 53m and thinking about getting into the dating scene again. But in some conversations and yes, images, shaving still seems to be a thing for ladies 50 and up. Obviously being in a committed 25 year marriage I have no idea of the trends these days.

Gen X or Gen Sex? NSFW

In my youth I oftentimes wondered what will it be like when I’m older? As I approach 52 at warp speed I can say my mindset hasn’t changed much. I don’t know about the majority but I still very much willing and able. I’ve talked to some friends about this and they have said the same. They think about sex or having sex about the same amount as their youth. The frustrating part is now (as a guy) you’re labeled as “cringe” for wanting it. What are your thoughts? I maybe rambling but I’m also down for the conversation. Is your libido the same, higher, or lower?

One of our best ever NSFW

My wife (67f) and I (63m) had our scheduled weekend sex date this morning. She was even more into it than she usually is. While I was eating her out, I played with her ass and I ended up putting a finger in. She came hard several times. She went feral sucking my cock, taking me deep and moaning when I face fucked her. Unfortunately, her knee got sore (it's hell getting older sometimes) and she had to stop. I laid her on her back and we spooned for a while. I wanted to give her one more 'wow' moment so I moved her to the edge of the bed and put her ankles on my shoulders. She came one more time and then I pulled out and came all over her. It shot out of my cock like it hasn't in years, 12-18 inches probably and so much semen. For a moment, I felt like a much younger man. This was one of those sessions that I'll always remember and I've had a stupid smile on my face all damn day.

Will Wife’s libido come back after menopause? NSFW

Married 20 years. Trying to figure out what’s hormonal and what’s just the new normal.

My wife’s libido was reasonable through her 20s and 30s. Not wild, not dead. Stress, kids, jobs all took a bite out of it, and she turned me down more than either of us likes to remember, but sex was still part of the marriage. Early 40s she got a second wind. Hornier than she’d been since we were young, wanting to read smut and occasionally watch something erotic, more willing to initiate, more open to stuff we’d never gotten around to. I thought we’d finally landed in the good years.

She’s now in the tail end of her 40s and a few years into perimenopause, and that drive is gone. Not lower. Zero. She still loves me and says she misses wanting sex, which is almost worse than if she were indifferent. She didn’t expect to miss it. Hot flashes, sleep, the usual peri stuff are in the mix. Zero interest in smut anymore. She hasn’t started HRT due to anxiety with doctors and medicine in general.

For those of you on the other side of this: did libido come back after menopause, into the 50s, on its own or with HRT (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone)? Or did the late-peri crash just become the new baseline? Especially interested in women who had a late surge in the early 40s and then lost it, and in husbands who watched the same arc.

Not looking for “just communicate” or “schedule it.” We’ve had those talks. I want to know if the drive itself can return once she’s through menopause, or if we should plan on this being gone.

Thinking about our younger days NSFW

Do you ever sometimes feel a little bummed that neither you nor your partner(s) will ever have that perfectly smooth skin and toned bodies that we had in our youth? My wife and I still look great to each other, but man, I really miss when we were younger and everything was so silky and smooth on both of our bodies.

Greatest sex ever with FWB and I know relationship will never happen… NSFW

I (49M) matched with a woman (48F) on Tinder back in February, after ending a long-term relationship. After that relationship ended, wasn’t really looking to enter a new one. This woman is separated but living with her husband and several kids. She’s in a sexless marriage but they cannot get divorced for financial and medical reasons. (Don’t worry, I vetted this - her FB page is public and lists them as separated. She’s not secretly cheating on her husband. According to her they have not had sex in well over five years - he simply isn’t interested in it).

Sex with this woman is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced (or frankly dreamed of). She’s had a fair number of partners since coming to this arrangement with her husband about three years ago, and even after the first time we had sex she remarked that “it isn’t usually like this.” It was like we like the same exact things, the same way, with the same intensity, and same frequency. Like we are 100% aligned in bed.

We spent about three months earlier this year fucking at every opportunity. There were a few times I came three times in the span of 90 minutes. It was insane.

I told her I wanted to pause things after three months because I met someone else that I was interested in, and it was clear to me that this FWB was never going to be anything more than it was (to her credit, she told me that very clearly in our first text conversation). I also told her that I had started to develop just a tinnnnyyyy bit of feelings for her. She didn’t react well, and was pretty angry with me, and cut things off abruptly.

I reached back out to her a few weeks ago and we texted a bit, and she admitted she really missed me but did not think it was healthy for us to reengage. I think at that point both of us were horny enough that after we texted for a few hours we disregarded those feelings and we met last night (for the first time in about 4.5 months).

It was like we never stopped. It was a bit of a quickie due to logistical issues last night, but if those issues weren’t present it would have been another 3-4 hour marathon.

I know this isn’t going anywhere. She’s made it clear that she and her husband are not formally getting divorced for at least another 5-7 years, and that there is a fair chance they may never (they’ve learned to solid roommates/partners and co-parents). The sex is just so unbelievably amazing that I can’t bring myself to even think about cutting this off again. I know this will effectively prevent me from finding another “real” partner (which I’m ok with over the short term, but I know at some point I will want to pursue a real relationship with someone, which I obviously cannot do while seeing her).

Anyone have any similar stories? Any thoughts? Am I justified in keeping this going solely for the absolutely mind blowing sex?

Fighting the perimenopause slump? NSFW

I've been seeing a huge drop in the quality of the sex I've been having the last few years, I think mostly due to perimenopause and general exhaustion as my career continues to ramp up. I've been on a journey through all the self-help sites, crappy cosmo articles, and grilling my doctors in every appointment (WHY are they all so uncomfortable talking about basic sex and anatomical info?). Spent a lot of time reading, asking questions, annd testing out a million different "quick fixes", and I want to sense check with other people going through it.

I thought HRT was going to be the fix all solution, and it helped A LOT, but it took longer than I wish it had to get the right mix of testosterone and estrogen, patches, and gels, and creams. I think my biggest takeaway was: start early. I wish I had started badgering my doc as soon as I started feeling symptoms, now that I look back I think it started in my late 30s, not late 40s. Then it took me way too long to find a doctor who understood what I was going through and was responsive when things weren't working. I finally have a doc I trust and we're looking into pelvic floor physical therapy too. If sex and even daily activities are still painful, push your doctor for other options, bring up genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) .

One of the biggest battles I've been on is finding a good lube The biggest thing I’ve learned: not all lube is created equal. If everything suddenly feels drier, more sensitive, or more easily irritated than it used to, the random bottle from the drugstore just doesn't cut it anymore. I wasted so much money on cheap, basic lube, just hoping it would do SOMETHING. It feels like I tried them all. In the end I found that spending a bit more for a higher quality lube that I only need a little of is better than using half a bottle of the cheap stuff. I do recommend trying out pjur, their med line for sensitive skin is the first time a lube didn't burn or irritate me, and the pjur Woman is the best silicone lube I've tried (though I am finding that I want to use silicone lube way more than water-based).

I think one of the bigger pieces of this shift has been both me and my partner learning to communicate better and differently. It might have taken us both a while to catch on, but I can't overemphasize how big of a difference it made to have a partner who was thoughtful, and patient, but also not just feeling entitled to my time and attention, and my body. We were definitely on this journey together, and it felt good to have a partner in crime, scheming and planning our doctor strategy and planning trips to new sex shops to look for better toys and ways to keep things comfortable and playful.

I'd love to hear other people's positive experiences and journeys, and what you learned the hard way (or your favorite sudden revelations).

Advice on how to discuss possible kinks NSFW

Wife and I have been together for over 35 years. Historically we have led a very vanilla lifestyle. My wife and I are both from very traditional families and raised with a decent dose of sexual shame that is difficult to overcome. She is someone that many would describe as an avoidant personality.
I have attempted several times over the years to start conversation around opening our horizons in the bedroom. The conversation has never gone anywhere meaningful. Usually she just shuts down the discussion by not contributing anything meaningful (she says she has no fantasies, no desire to roleplay and has no ideas or desires for anything different. Other times she will defer it and say its not a good time to discuss and then not bring up the topic again, and if I try to restart the conversation days or weeks later she says its feels like I am being pushy.
We both agree our sex life has become safe and predictable , but she seems unable to have an open discussion or even do private research to see if there are areas we could explore.
Has anyone else overcome this? I would love to hear some ideas on how to create a safe space.
