Inspiration and Ideas Erotic films with a plot?
I'm on a mission to find a porn movie with a plot .My wife, level 37, has never watched adult films. I've been trying to convince and I finally succeeded. I just need to find a film with a normal plot.So all the "oh my stepbrother, why are you masturbating? Give me a hand and I'll help you" movies are out.

Plenty of people know who she really is. It's just not public knowledge. I found an article as recent as 2023 from people who managed to track it down. They provided a bit of evidence and more details about her career, but didn't disclose her name in order to keep her privacy.
Apparently she was still alive when the article was posted.

My wife would consider The Thomas Crown Affair with Pierce Bronson porn. She’s as wet and horny as she gets from any movie/porn after that one sex scene, but it’s the whole buildup in the movie to that scene that really gets her going.

We just watched 'I like to watch' (1982) with my wife last Sunday. She absolutely loved it!
I have a few more downloaded and planned for this weekend:

Gaspar Noe's Love... if you can find it. It was on Netflix once upon a time but I haven't been able to find a decent way to get it in the US for a few years. There are some dodgy sites you cab steam it in 720p.
Also, Basic Instinct was quite racy in it's day and has definite plot.

These are so much fun, but the sex is as much of a parody as the plot is. If I had to be convinced to give porn a chance only to be presented with these I'd probably just feel vindicated.

ok, will recommend one more, a little reluctantly: Lust, Caution. Reluctant because it’s slow at first, and is very bleak as well.
but it’s a great movie: gorgeously shot, incredible chemistry between the leads, a real and suspenseful plot, and the spicy scenes are *hot* (and taught us at least one new position)

I mean does it need to be actual sex or just simulated sex? Many a women has gotten off quite successfully to Outlander. Bridgerton also has some fairly explicit scenes. Generally speaking, porn acting is bad, and I suspect that's going to be the real sticking point, not the lack of plot.
Also, Sex/Life had many a steamy scene and many visible dicks. No actual penetration though. It has a lot of plot, but it's basically a soap opera on some level.

The first film I ever saw was called Soaking Wet. If you google it, you can find it streaming for free on sites like Porn Tube Classic and stuff. It was made in 1985. I found it on a VHS tape in my dad’s sock/underwear drawer when I was about eight years old.
I didn’t understand that the plot isn’t super relevant for what the purpose of porn was for at the time, and wasn’t really all that interested in the sex scenes anyway, so I thought I should probably pay attention to the story.
It’s about these three girls that wanted to start a nudie magazine, but they didn’t have any money, so they go to the bank to get a loan but the banker doesn’t really think they have enough collateral for the loan, so they have sex with him and get the loan. But they have to come back every week and pay interest on the loan, and they won’t have enough money for all the photographers, article writers, editors, models, and everything else, so they just keep having sex with all these people to convince them to do the job for cheap or free for the first few issues and then use the money they saved to pay off the interest on the loan.
When I finished the movie I remember wondering why they called it “Soaking Wet”. There was maybe one sex scene in the whole film that took place in a big hot tub, which was pretty much the only time I would consider anyone soaking wet. The rest of the time they were all pretty much dry. Just having sex on the floor, or on a couch, in a big bed, and even on a desk at a bank. Not really around any water at all for 95% of the film. I thought the title would have been better if it had some sort of reference to getting a bank loan or starting a magazine. Really lazy title effort.

There's a movie called 9 Songs that is VERY explicit and erotic. And it's actually a pretty decent movie. It's a "real" movie but the sex is definitely NOT simulated. Very sexy.
There's also the more recent movie of Lady Chatterley's Lover and that's extremely spicy, too, but not with the close-ups of 9 Songs

Bound is not really porn, pretty violent in a few places, but has one of the better sex scenes in mainstream cinema. If you're looking for the opposite thing, All About Anna is basically a series of sex scenes loosely connected by threads of plot

Oh, you absolutely must watch 1979's Caligula in that case.
It has famous actors with a plot, and a run time of a 156 minutes. It also has, genuine Bob Guccione (of Penthouse fame) hardcore porn.
It's like a dumpster fire next to another dumpster filled with fireworks. You watch it, just to see what's going to happen.

My wife loves to do this as well! But with the classic vintage porn. Not only do we love the sex but the outfits, music but the old locations as well. I was on the same mission for my wife: a porn movie (not simply erotic, but porn) with a plot (FWIW, I like them better too). Aside from Erika Lust, who's already been mentioned and that I recommend too, I discovered Kay Brandt and all the movies based on her stories and then, in some cases, directed by her too. Absolutely amazing, movies with a plot that my wife can identify in and a nice production, direction and, yes, acting too. You won't be disappointed. Some titles: "Unfolding", Babysitting the Baumgartners", "The Invitation", "The Lustful Wife". Let me know! ;)

There's a movie from 2011 called Lost and Found. The plot is kind of basic, but it's an actual plot about a guy who meets his neighbor while trying to help her find her lost dog, and then they hit it off. Just, in this case, when they hit it off, the sex is not implied. It's the closest thing I've found to the genre of "I wish this otherwise legitimate movie had sex scenes where the sex was porn."

Erotic or porn? New or vintage? There are many good erotic and porn movies from 1970's and 1980's, comedies, dramas, horrors, psychological movies, or even experimental movies. So all depends on your taste. Many great movies are on rarelust site (you can Google it), many have great quality (4k or full HD blue Ray rips, with another track with director or actor comments). If you like "historical" costume dramas one of the best is "Sensational Janine" 1976 german movie with good English dubbing and plot based on novel. Another good example is "V the hot one" (1978), porn version of Belle de jour (1967). If you like more erotic, not porn movies you can try some movies by Tinto Brass - for example Monamour (2006).

The Handmaiden (2016) is the best combination of awesome plot and scheming characters mixed with really sensual scenes. It doesn't hurt that it's gorgeously shot and paced.
Excellent movie. Can't recommend enough.
