Question Staying in Dongtan and have one free day. What to do in Seoul?

• Upvotes

I am going to be a couple of days in Dongtan near Suwon. I have a free day that I would like to take advantage of. I have already been once in Seoul and Suwon (mainly the fortress), but that was about 10 years ago. I don't know how much Seoul has changed in these 10 years and if there are new Museums or attractions that are worth seeing.

Last time I did a hike in the mountain of Seoul and really liked it, that is my backup plan for the day.

Also if anyone has recommendations on what to do in the evenings near Dongtan, I would appreciate it.

BTW, if anyone has recommendations on where to eat fresh korean mochi, please let me know. Last time I stumbled across a "bakery" and it was amazing.

Chicagoan here, burgerry was insanely good!

Y’all, this place could easily stand on its own in the US. It had me questioning whether it was better than Portillo’s burger or not back at home. Also a big red hot ranch fan for fellow chicagoans back at home.

Burgerry kinda felt like the loyalist meets fast food. Very juicy burgers, the classic was a minimalist burger with carmelized onions and very juicy patties with cheese. It’s all a burger needs in my opinion. Give this place a shot!!

Question Would anyone be interested in trying this?

• Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I made a travel kit for people visiting Seoul, and I'm thinking about giving some away for free to travelers arriving in Korea at the airport.

I'd love to hear what people think after trying it out!

It's basically a travel diary with fun little missions to complete while exploring Seoul.

Would anyone be interested in trying one?

Looking to meet like-minded people and build genuine friendships in Seoul

Hey everyone!

I'm a 27-year-old Hispanic living in Seoul already for several years, working in AI/ML engineering and building my own side business.

I'd love to meet people who are curious about the world, passionate about what they do, and enjoy conversations that go beyond small talk.

I'm interested in all sorts of things: entrepreneurship, technology, music (including playing), philosophy, and exploring new ideas. But I'm equally happy grabbing a coffee, going for a walk, having a few drinks, or just chatting about life.

You don't need to share all these interests. I actually think it's great to meet people from completely different backgrounds.

I'm hoping to find people with whom we can share interests, exchange ideas, support each other's projects, and hopefully build genuine friendships over time.

If this sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to send me a message! I'd be happy to chat a bit and meet up for coffee sometime. :)

Side note: I am male and looking for ideally making other male friendships. Either korean or foreigner, all welcome!!

Best 24h jjimjilbang in Seoul?

I’m on a little mission to find the best 24h jjimjilbang in Seoul! somewhere clean and affordable with a proper HOT sauna and a cozy spot to sleep overnight. I’ve been looking at The Park Spa Land and Sammo Sporex and Sparex but I’m curious…
Which one is your favorite? Any hidden gems I absolutely HAVE to try?

Native Korean working in Seoul/Korea here — AMA / Happy to help with anything you need!

Hi everyone,

I’m a native Korean currently living and working in Korea.

I’ve noticed many travelers, expats, and newcomers posting here with questions about daily life, local culture, transit, work culture, or just general travel tips. Sometimes finding accurate local info or navigating things without Korean can be tricky.

If you have any questions or need a bit of local advice/insight — whether it’s about :

Everyday life, work culture, or living in Korea

Travel recommendations, getting around, or food spots

Navigating local apps, services, or general logistics

Feel free to drop a comment or ask away! I’ll do my best to help out whenever I have a free moment.

Cheers!

HELP! ADHD Prescription While Travelling

I’m arriving in Seoul this week and realised too last minute that I need to fill out a declaration form for my ADHD Medication. I am currently on 40mg Methylphenidate (Medikinet modified release) prescribed in the UK.

What are my options for getting a prescription while I am here?

I am fine to go a few days without but the main issue is that we are moving around a lot so would need an appointment and to receive the prescription within a relatively short space of time.

I have contacted the Itaewon international clinic via email but am wondering what other options I have just in case they can’t help me in time (same day appointments/collections?).

We are also visiting Jeju and Busan.

TLDR; How can I quickly get a prescription for Methylphenidate while travelling in Korea, ideally in Seoul?
