Ken’s trolling abilities are absolutely top tier

Been listening for a while and am interested in the lore behind Diego Torres. Whenever Ken speaks about him there's kind of a piss taking tone, but other time seems to speak more highly of him. Sometimes I'm not sure if he actually likes/respects him or quite the opposite.

If anyone can explain the background as to why Diego became such a significant figure, what the lads actually think of him and any other info, would be interested to know!

Interesting episode. I don't know all the details, but any particular reason why the Parades commission allowed the march? Seems that if they just kept the route through the other road, there'd be no problem.

Does anyone else find it strange that Paul Kimmage hasn't once appeared on the Indo Sport podcast?

It's been going over 2 years, he's by far their biggest and most interesting journalist and he has no problem coming on second captains.

Was there a fall out between him and Joe Molloy? Joe is left doing Facebook movie reviews with Will Slattery when Kimmage is in the same building.

At about 37:40, Ken mentioned an AI video of the female Israeli journalist at the press conference knocking out Gareth Maher of the FAI that she posted on her Instagram. Im actually quite curious if anyone has seen it.

I want to preface with something first before I begin.

What the state of Israel is doing is abhorrent and horrific. I think 99% of people who subscribe would share this opinion and most match going Ireland fans.

To begin, the call for the game to not go ahead would again be a popular opinion among everyone in ireland. However it should have been stopped by first, UEFA or Fifa banning Israel. For a variety of reasons I won't get into, they didn't.

This is now where I feel the sentiment put across this pod since the nations league draw and a lot of media, differs from the reality of how the majority of supporters actually feel. I was at the game last night. I seen maybe 20 people protesting outside the ground. There was possibly more elsewhere. That's all I seen. I think maybe another 20 people threw tennis balls on to the pitch. They were booed very loudly by a large section of the supporters. The ground was about 90-95% full with the reduced seating.

In the build up to the match this week and the last few weeks, the pod and it's contributers, you would think there was going to be mass protests, empty seats and large scale disruption. There wasn't anything close to it.

I guess the point of my post is this, the popular sentiment among football supporters in Ireland was that once Israel were allowed in the competition, we should have played them at home. Imagine the actual protest that could have taken place. It was not on the players, FAI or anyone else to enforce their exclusion. I think this was backed by the events last night.

So why does the pod continue as if the majority opinion is to not play the game and boycotting. Does it show a disconnect from reality the lads are in?

I feel like the boycott the game movement is a largely online movement where people are happy to express this view of the FAI and irish football making sacrifices, but the vast majority of these people have never made a sacrifice for Palestine themselves.

I don't mean this maliciously, but have the lads ever made a contribution to the Palestine disaster? I don't know if they have.

There’s always been a bit of WUMming in the comments that I have enjoyed reading but the past week it has gotten out of hand. Do you think they should ban commenters who are only starting trouble?

Yet these same hypocrites happily went on a jollie over to the US for the World Cup. Happily reported on every game. Despite the US being the biggest funder to Israel.

But let’s ignore that. There is content to be made, money to be made. Ken hyping up games. Ken & Branno ironically sneering at Americans as they toured around (especially that gun practice place).

Ignore the hypocrisy lads. There’s money to be made. Like every middle class socialist, let’s grandstand and take a stand as long as it doesn’t actually impact us in any meaningful or financial way.

I know it’s popular on Irish threads to rip into the AFL, but this is some achievement by the man.

I know he is not on holiday and merely international duty. But I do enjoy the pile on about Ken missing big stories by being away.
