Whenever I rewatch the original Scream trilogy, I always feel like Sidney's story goes by way too quickly. It feels like we're just getting to know her character before we're already at the finale in Scream 3.
Scream (1996) introduces us to Sidney and everything she goes through in Woodsboro. Scream 2 is our first chance to see how she's dealing with the aftermath and trying to move on with her life, but then Scream 3 is the conclusion of her story.
I always felt like one sequel wasn't enough to explore Sidney's character after the first movie. It doesn't help that Scream 2 and Scream 3 seem to spend more time developing Gale and Dewey's relationship while much of Sidney's personal development happens offscreen.
I would've preferred at least one more sequel before Scream 3, especially since we go from Sidney attending college to suddenly living in isolation.
If Scream 4-7 didn't exist and the franchise had actually ended with Scream 3, I think I'd feel like we barely got to know Sidney before her story was already over.
Does anyone else feel like Sidney's original story ended just as we were getting to know her?

This thing is massive and very well built. Was super excited to add it to my collection. I regret nothing.

I was ghost face last year so I had the costume. I came up with this idea to still use it! Thoughts?

This movie had the perfect setup to be an origin story for Sam becoming Ghostface. The way her anger was growing from being mistreated due to everything surrounding her. I wish that the franchise would eventually go the route of one of the main characters becoming Ghostface. Thoughts?

So far liking it a lot. What is your favorite movie in the franchise? I had the costume mask that had a heart you could squeeze to make blood run down the face. That is the only thing I know about Scream.

IMO, Scream 4 has some of the most sadistic and brutal Ghostface kills in the entire franchise.
Just look at what Charlie did to Olivia. He tore her apart and left her guts hanging out. I don't think any of the previous Ghostface killers went that far with their victims. IMO, outside of Casey and Steve's murders in the original, I don't think any of the kills in the first three movies really matched that same level of sadism and cruelty.
Even the phone calls feel nastier in this one. Ghostface/Charlie seems to genuinely enjoy terrifying and torturing his victims before killing them.
My personal headcanon is that the reason Charlie is so much more sadistic than the previous Ghostface killers is because he grew up watching movies like Saw and Hostel not just Stab. Billy and Stu were influenced by the slashers of the 70s and 80s while Charlie grew up during the 2000s when torture porn was huge and horror movies were becoming increasingly graphic and violent. Considering how obsessed Charlie is with horror movies, I wouldn't be surprised if those movies influenced how he carried out his own murders.
Obviously the later movies have their share of brutal kills too but something about Ghostface in Scream 4 just feels particularly nasty to me. It feels like Charlie actually enjoys the violence itself.

Worth the 80! :D....🥲 Really cool collectable for the 30th Anniversary of the iconic Ghost Face killer movie!

They got the classic vanilla scent and it's a better smell than the 30 th anniversary mask. They look great and the vinyl feels good on your face. Way better than the ultra white mask and only 10$.
Lol I still think the ghostface mask would be the worst mask ever to kill people with tho. You can barely see anything with it on. And I heard for the movie mask they often use double fabric inside the eyes so no one can see inside the mask. Those poor stunt men.

Do you have any controversial "who killed who" theories for Scream (1996)?
My kill count for the original Scream changes with almost every rewatch because I always end up coming up with different theories about which Ghostface killed who.
I used to think Billy killed Tatum, but now I honestly think Principal Himbry was Billy's only Ghostface kill in the movie.
What changed my mind was the look Billy gave Stu when he finally arrived at the party. I always interpreted that as Billy basically telling Stu "it's done" after killing Himbry and staging his body to lure everyone away from the party not because Tatum was killed.
I also don't count Maureen Prescott as one of Billy's Ghostface kills because we don't even know if he was wearing the costume when he killed her. Plus I'm only counting the murders that happen during the actual movie.
My current kill count for the original:
Stu: Steve, Casey, Tatum, Kenny
Billy: Principal Himbry
I'm curious if anyone else has a controversial kill count for the original movie, especially since Billy and Stu's kills are still debated almost 30 years later.

Genuine bonus question for the Sidney and Gale fans... why do you think the franchise shouldn't move on from them?

Wondering if anyone can help me identify if this mask is a Fun World Gen 2? I’m not able to get a shot of the chin stamp yet to know for sure.

I was originally planning on buying a custom cloak but after seeing the 30th anniversary costume at Spirit I had to get it. Granted I'm a little shorter so I have to use the belt but it still looks amazing!

I’m a big fan and I’ve had these up on my wall for awhile after finding them at various places. Anyone know what they are? Photos 1&2 are mask One etc….

In the Wes Craven films, there was always at least one Ghostface who betrayed their accomplice.
Billy would have eventually betrayed Stu
Mrs. Loomis betrayed Mickey
Jill betrayed Charlie
But in the Radio Silence films the Ghostface killers were actually loyal to each other. Richie and Amber never turned on each other, and neither did the Bailey family.
