The Dragon #1-5?

Hey everyone,

I’m wanting to dive in to reading Savage Dragon and want to start from the beginning

I know it started with a 3 issue mini in 1992, and the first Ultimate Collection HC has The Dragon #1-5

Are they the same thing?

It’s basically the original miniseries with additional content like the Image Zero story, pages added to the first trade and more pages added after that. Also pages were also reorganized to tell story in chronological order.

It was all collected in the second printing of the trade (picture below) , Archives vol 1 and the Ultimate collection vol 1 and the upcoming Compendium vol 1.

The Dragon is the first mini series but expanded to five issues.
