Looking for Recs Sapphic book recs?

Hello hello! So, my bffs birthday is in a couple of weeks and I was thinking of gifting her a few books, but I'm not too familiar with sapphic books so do y'all have any recs? Anything with princess x knight as the main couple, or witches. Spicy stories are welcomed.

Thanks a lot!

Looking for Recs Sapphic teacher x student recs?

• Upvotes

I think that falling in love with your teachers is one of the most common lesbian rites of passage lmao.

And well, lately I'm finding myself looking back at when a high school teacher crush of mine turned into something deeper (no, nothing romantic happened, in case you're wondering 🤣).

So I'm looking for books that represent that. But with actual romance, and spice.

I know it sounds problematic, but I just want to revisit that period of my life, and I'm sure there are sapphic teacher-student books out there that I NEED to check out. Let me know!!

Discussion Ai or no?

Girls I’m really bad at identifying AI Writing, I can tell the cover of the book is ai which makes it obviously far more suspicious. But I can’t figure out if the book itself is ai

It’s on kindle unlimited and called “Film & Forever: A Spicy Sapphic Small Town Romance” if someone who’s better at these things could check I’d love that

Looking for Recs Lesbian nonfiction recs to start with?

I've stuck with fiction my whole life. The only non fiction I've read are Chicken Soup for the Soul and 7 Best Things Smart Teens Do. are latter was nice because I'm interested in psychology. I want to try getting into lesbian non fiction.

Looking for Recs Regency romance

I need more regency sapphic rivals/enemies-to-lovers novels! I'm currently reading Like in Love with You by Emma R. Alban, and I need more more more!!! I'm actually dreading finishing it because I don't want it to end 😭 I wish there were more sapphic regency novels.

This is exactly the rivals-to-lovers trope I've been looking for. One where they're fighting over a third person, only to end up falling for each other haha.

I mean, I do have a lot my TBR, but it's always a hit-or-miss situation with these books. The ones I've read so far areThe Lady's Guide to Celestial Mechanics, which I absolutely loved, Pride and Prejudice and Pittsburgh, and A Lady's Desire. I didn't enjoy the last two as much lol.

I don't think anyone can recommend any more books that fit what I'm looking for, but if, by some miracle, you know of any, please please please tell me!!

Looking for Recs age-gap teacher/student (or any education setting) sapphic/lesbian books?

Hi all! I'm looking for age-gap teacher/student books, with preferably older main characters. For example, an older professor with a grad student in her 30s (think The Love Factor by Quinn Ivins or something similar) or, say, a younger art teacher with an older art student. Basically, any sapphic/lesbian book with slightly more mature-ish main characters with an age gap (nothing YA) that's in a teaching/education/mentoring kind of setting, please.

Open to cross-genre, though not so much on the fantasy/sci-fi side of things, and don't mind if the stories are on the lighter or darker side. Spicy would be grrrrreat, but even without it is fine. Even better if there's an audiobook out there as well!

Looking for Recs Cozy Monster Ladies Written By Women?

I adore stories with monsters/aliens as main characters, even better if they're point of view characters, better again if there's a queer (particularly Sapphic) romance element.

Recently I was recommending some of my favorite books with good monster lady representation, only to realize they were all written by men.

Legends and Lattes, Someone You Can Build A Nest In, The Dark Lord Davi duology, Botanical Daughter, all men.

Monsters and Mainframes is great, but the emphasis is definitely on the AI romance (which is awesome) and not the monster ladies (who are unfortunately a werewolf and vampire and far more human compared to the above).

So now I'm wondering. Does this very specific subgenre just happen to be dominated by men, and if so how/why did that come to pass? Or am I missing out on the contributions by women to this subgenre, and why is that?

Does anyone have any thoughts, or better yet, recommendations?

Looking for Recs Sapphic mystery/thrillers pls!!

Ok so I am a HUGE Gerri Hill fan, and I'm really into sapphic mystery and thriller.

However, it does feel like a niche genre somehow, so I was wondering if you have any amaaaazing recs for me!!

It can be whatever subgenre, even if I do tend to like crime better (feel free to recommend literally anything other than crime too!!). Help a gal out plsss

Discussion I've just finished "The whole truth" - What a great read! But now I have SO many doubts... [real life advice needed] NSFW

So, I kinda want to talk about ✨hot scenes✨ (unexperienced, 23yo bissexual girlie here)

This book was SO well written, the hot scenes made me feel really really REALLY horny. I've never read something so intense.... and this kinda made me feel a bit anxious because I am so unexperienced. Could you guys tell me if that kind of sexual relationship is something that happens in real life? Is it actually possible to feel THAT actracted to your partner, and to actually experience that level of passion for each other? To give it each other that much pleasure? Or is it something in fiction only?

Do you guys also take some well written things like this books and take it as... "advice" for when its your own turn in real life?

I've had my experience with a woman before, but it happened only twice and it was four years ago. It was good, but I didn't really know a lot about what I was doing. Since then, I just don't really know where to met people and how to meet someone who might want something like that. And even if I do, how on earth would I know what to do??????? I kinda feel ashamed to be unexperienced, and my biggest question here is - should I be taking the things that I read as real life advice?

Spoilers Finally got around to Sunburn by Chloe Michelle Howarth — what a ride

I tore through this in less than half a day, I think, and this was even when I had to keep stopping because I kept getting overwhelmed lol. I won’t say too much, but I will say that I highlighted so, so many passages, something I don’t normally do. Everything I highlighted are things Lucy said that perfectly encapsulated everything I felt as a lesbian growing up and into adulthood — confusion, longing, lust, guilt, shame, anger, sadness. I felt frustrated by Lucy, and devastated for her, and angry with her for making stupid decisions. So, so many emotions, all of them familiar and unpleasant and yet not unwelcome.

I was so glad to see a hopeful ending. I think it’s been a while since I’ve resonated like this with a book. This might be one of my favorite new reads of the year, so if you haven’t read it, I’d recommend adding it to your list. It’s such a trip.

Discussion Anyone else recovering from Atmosphere?

I just finished Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid the other day and for the first time in forever, I haven’t been able to start reading another book on my tbr after a good few days. I can’t even have my own thoughts because I’m only thinking of this book. Instead, I’m already re-reading it.

I fell to my knees and sobbed so hard I almost threw up when I finished the book. It’s just such a fun, exciting and beautiful story. I loved the characters, I loved the sapphic/wlw element surrounding NASA set in the 80s, where women are trying to prove that they can go to space and do so much more.
The sapphic element is what especially got me. I love sapphic books that make me cry and makes me really feeeeel.
I also didn’t think that space would make me feel so excited too. It was so much fun.
Anyone else distraught after reading it? I loved it so much,,

Looking for Recs I'm trying to learn english by reading GL novels🥺🙏

I’ve done some searching, but a lot of people seem to say that the popular books aren’t that great, so I’m curious: what’s the most memorable GL novel you’ve ever read?

I’m looking for something angsty and emotionally devastating, with a lot of suffering, healing, and salvation, as well as a deeply moving, bittersweet romance. I want a story that really puts my heart through the wringer but also makes me feel warm and emotional..

I’d especially love a novel with beautiful prose and a captivating writing style..

And if possible, I’d prefer a physical copy over an ebook🫠

Discussion Why is it so hard to find REAL lesbian beta readers?

I was niave to use Fivver, falling for fake accounts posing as lesbians offering their services to beta read my manuscript. I was about 20 chapters deep with THREE seperate readers when I finally realized I was being scammed by the same ring. (There are lots of details to how I found this out but that’s besides the point.)

I was crushed because I was very vulnerable in a lot of these chapters. I wanted specifically to find someone else who has been in my shoes to connect with me on the story. So when I found out three seperate beta readers were fake accounts, it broke my heart.

So then I tried TikTok. And already am getting very suspicious messages. The broken English, the Ai profile pictures, the sense of urgency. It’s hard enough to try and find someone legitimate, but even harder to find someone within the same community.

I eventually found one, and so far, they have been absolutely wonderful. But what I had to go through to get there makes me feel gullible and silly. Please someone tell me I’m not the only one who fell for these?

To TLDR: Beware of beta reader scammers.

My Recommendation Friends to lovers 🥹💗

I’ve been pretty insistent about this, but I’m absolutely obsessed with friends to lovers, and I’m dying to find another one! I’ve already read most of the popular ones, but I know there has to be another hidden gem out there.

I want the kind of story where they hug, kiss each other on the cheek, do all these couple-y things, and they’re literally the only ones who haven’t realized they’re in love yet.

I’ve already read On the Same Page by Haley Cass, and I’m not really a fan of Jae’s writing style, so I’m looking for something else.

Please, give me something SUPER SWEET and fluffy, about two women who have been in love with each other for YEARS. And please, no third-act breakup! I just want them to finally accept their feelings, fall into each other’s arms, and let us actually see their relationship develop after they get together. I need the domestic moments, the affection, the little things, ALL OF IT.

I’m begging you to recommend something a little less popular that fits this description. I know I’ve read a lot of the well-known ones, but there has to be something out there that I haven’t discovered yet!
Please help a girl out! 😭💕

Discussion Audiobook voice actors

Does anyone else have a voice actress that they prefer?

In the last few months, I’ve really become fond of audiobooks and so far anything that Lori Prince is narrating is going to be a win for me.

I’ve tried a couple other books with other voice actresses but they just don’t seem to hit the same!

Discussion Her Spell That Cursed Me…what could it be?? Spoiler

HELLO EVERYONE! I just finished the book for the third time. I used to think Iona did not remember the two weeks she spent in Brazil (when Ariadne say she visited her and Iona ignored her) because some time traveling matter and her praephora abilities. But now after reading again I’m wondering if it was just Xiomara’s and the Zerynthos’s maleficium magic working against Iona she does tell Ariadne “ we took time from you” or something of the sorts.

What’s your theory? I’m genuinely conflicted hahaha
