Granular Discussion Disney/Lucasfilm should abandon the concept of shared-continuity for Star Wars

On that subject, I think Linkara has a good point: Star Wars is the only film franchise where its derivatives and spin-offs are canon to each other and mutually canon to the movies.
The Disney Canon inherited this system from the old Expanded Universe, which proved largely unsuccessful. In principle, there are always retcons with a canon hierarchy based on media accessibility. The main problem with this model is that once a story is told, it's supposed to be set in stone, even if it's mediocre. This is the case for the Sequels or the works of the Filoniverse. The Disney Canon itself can't reboot the Sequels, because too many of its works were built around them. The same goes for Filoni's works. By doing so, Disney Star Wars is doomed and stuck with the same broken references, giving us mediocre works. The only truly good works in the Disney Canon are, in fact, the most self-contained ones, like Rogue One and Andor.
We all want a reboot of the Sequels, but that's impossible without abandoning the current Disney Canon in its entirety.
Moreover, if we were to reboot the current Disney Canon for that, we would simply be creating another rigid continuity, with the risk of it being overshadowed and taken over again by mediocre works.
That's why I believe the best thing Lucasfilm could do would be to obliterate the concept of shared-continuity for the Star Wars franchise. What I mean by that is that new works would only be required to adhere to the continuity of George Lucas's six movies, which would be the only gold standard to which authors would be obligated and strictly bound. Of course, creators would be allowed to consider the work of other colleagues, but it wouldn't be mandatory. In this way, the potential creativity offered by George Lucas's universe would be completely unleashed. We could finally legitimately have new, alternative versions of the Sequels by other authors, in comics, novels, and perhaps other formats depending on Lucasfilm's policy. This would even allow for the continuation of Legends works and the continued creation of works seeking to fit within the old Disney Canon continuity. There would be food for absolutely everyone! Even Filoni would still be free to do as he pleases (although the authors would no longer be obliged to acknowledge his work)! We could also have all sorts of new interpretations of the Clone Wars, the Old Republic, and the post-ROTJ era!
In practice, it would simply be applying the same system to Star Wars for its spin-off works as to the rest of the extended universes of any other film franchises, such as Alien, Terminator, Predator, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Jurassic Park, etc.
I confess that this is truly the only satisfactory solution I see to Lucasfilm's mismanagement of the franchise.
