Healthcare, no one can even get sick. Those working not on OHP pay 400-600
a month for two people. Then massive co-pays.
We had two doctor visits, nothing special nearly 500.00 just to check your heart and make sure you are breathing. That is 500.00 paid to them, with office covered. That is their adjusted copays.
Aside what insurance cost each paycheck, F*ck TRUMP.

Locally here, there is no work, so all these running for office WTF you planning on doing?

ROSEBURG, Ore. — A new solar-and-battery system is now complete at the Roseburg Urban Sanitary Authority (RUSA), a project designed to keep critical operations running during a power outage while reducing electricity costs over time.

Good news indeed for Roseburg.

Why can't we invest in infrastructure to allow specific spaces for people to camp? If we use the Point, for example, and Deer Creek Park?

This will be unpopular to some people but I think it would lead to more favorable results Tha what is happening now. What they do now:

People camp all throughout the park, but some people are dirty and litter, etc. There are dumpsters but some people don't use them. The cops warn they're doing a sweep, which is where everything that's not picked up by that date gets thrown away. So they take people who can't or won't work, throw their stuff away, and then people wonder why these guys steal stuff and break stuff? Is it because people don't have opportunities, or aren't taking them? So our, response is to make them poorer, leading them to steal stuff.

If the city installed campsites, maybe even cheap but still pay to use? Bathrooms, showers, and a dumpster, with like a 1 dollar fee per night, or something similar?

If we did that, then we can identify where a person can camp, for how long, and so on.

The only other option, really, is way more expensive: you would have to kick everybody out of the park and post security 24/7 where every square inch of the park is being watched constantly.

I think if we built a real campground and then policed the park for foul play, we could simply have campers in the park who are clean and don't cause problems.

Just been thinking about this and am wondering if anybody else thinks this could be a real solution.

Does anyone have any experiences with umpqua united soccer? It seems to be the only recreational league for kids in roseburg but I’ve heard terrible things about the league.

I recently posted two videos here in this sub. It was videos depicting an individual sending me racial threats and threats of violence. He posted on his page that he paid to take out a hit on someone on the very same day he sent me voice messages saying he'd hurt me and calling me slurs.

I totally forgot Douglas County had a black judge. It was a different experience seeing another black man. But even the administrator and people sitting in the back looked completely shocked and some looked disgusted when I shared my story.

The judge looked confused when I told him that Sheriff Hanlin and the Douglas County Sheriff's Department didn't even respond when I found a note in my mailbox saying, "Go Home N****r" on my first week here. He asked me to repeat what I said even though I'm sure he heard me. I think he just couldn't believe what he was hearing, or maybe he could. I don't know.

But the fact I have this order now validates my story. It's nice to know my family has some measure of protection. It's just sad it had to be this way.

Again, thank you to this sub. You guys saw a problem and tried to fix it. You have my gratitude. I'm not used to people caring. It's really refreshing and you have no idea how grateful I am. Thank you.

So, Deputy Wiley with the Douglas County Sheriff's Department refused to even hear me when I said I had proof and that none of this racist harassment and threats of violence was criminal. Today, Sheriff Hanlin himself heard the recordings because I played it for him personally and he said that's clearly a hate crime.

They literally got mad at me for having a gun when their sheriff's deputy ignored my pleas for assistance. The suspect literally says in the recordings (and I provided a screenshot as well) that he would find my house and harm me.

So yeah, I felt the need to protect myself if the cops won't do anything. What other option do I got? I'm going for an order of protection but I post this stuff to show you the black experience here and in case I end up missing. I don't wanna end up becoming another Tykerrious Ray. I'm a veteran and I got scared. I'll be honest. That's a human thing.

I still can't believe this man thinks someone using this many slurs and threatening violence is just free speech. Shout-out to Deputy Reed for at least trying to be a decent human being. She's much better than the Sheriff and some of her coworkers. I could tell she thought this whole thing was insane but she has to be impartial and I get that. I'm just glad I finally heard a deputy say that I was put into an awful situation that I should've never had to deal with.

As many of you are aware the cat population is a real problem in Roseburg and the SPCA is doing what it can to help but is 100% volunteer based and non-profit. It is extra difficult because it's also 100% foster based so all the cats that are adoptable stay at foster homes, there isn't a facility that houses the cats.

The group could use some volunteers to help feed feral cat colonies, foster cats that are adoptable, help clean cat cages, etc...

UPDATE: The kitten is in good hands now :) Turns out he’s very sweet and wants nothing more than to cuddle. Thank you, everyone!

Backstory:

There was a family of stray cats (mother and several kittens) living at the VA. Everyone was trapped and relocated except for one kitten ( about 2-3 months old). With it getting cold outside, I’m worried it won’t survive. Administration has sent stern warnings about leaving food for it, due to attracting rodents. It is black with white on its paws and chest.

This kitten is so adorable and it’s hurting my heart to see it alone. Is anyone aware of local resources? Saving Grace has a long waiting list for trapping (possibly over a month). If someone is interested in adopting this cat I would be able to trap it and hand it off. It is not domesticated, but it’s still a kitten and could be socialized. It could also make a great barn cat!

We will pay to have it spayed or neutered!
