I have a roomba 550. It worked great for about 9 months. Then it kept getting confused, lost, claimed it was on a cliff, etc. reboots, factory resets, and cleaning did nothing to fix it. iRobot replaced the dock then the robot.

Set it all up again and it worked fine for a couple of weeks. Now I’m constantly getting “incompatible map” errors. Map is fine. I’ll delete it. Remap. It works for a day or two then the error repeats. It’s essentially unusable either way the popping feature.

I’ve noticed there hasn’t been a firmware update in a year and wonder if the lack of support and transition to a new owner has just made these products terrible now?

Anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

When you have a map saved for the i3 model, you can click on the menu dots and get what's called making a mapping run.

What does that do? Modify your saved map? Create a new map?
