RoR2 ROR2: HALLOWED CONCEPTS ANNOUNCED!!!
No new survivors revealed yet from what i can tell but it looks sick so far! What are your thoughts?

I thought it was N'kuhana too, but they also mention "Her" and "She", so personally, I can only assume that "Her" is somehow actually N'kuhana. I guess we'll see.

There's probably 2 "her"s in the lore considering the existence of the glacial elite aspect "her biting embrace". It's unlikely for one person to represent 2 different aspects, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I hope the DLC clears up that confusion. Ideally we don't end up having to argue about which "Her"'s and "She"'s refer to either Ms. Biting Embrace or N'kuhana lol

It’s been confirmed that the Her providence and Mithrix talk about is the Her from the glacial elite aspect.

It was confirmed on a discord chat by Duncan one of the co-founders of hopoo. This is misleading though becauss this was confirmed in late 2020 or early 2021 at this point. The lore has definitely evolved and it looks like gearbox is going in the direction of conjoining entities. we still dont know if Her and nkuhana are one and the same, its possible but only lightly implied so far at best, but in all likelyhood this dlc will give is a definitive answer, frankly im hoping Her is different because it allows for even MORE content

Or maybe they're the same person. I don't exactly remember if something about the lore strictly forbids this and I'm not particularly on either side of that argument, but N'kuhana is basically confirmed, and saying "She is watching" (especially with the capital letter on She) would be an incredibly dense move by Gearbox if they weren't at the very least related.

I made a separate post about this but gearbox is definitely conjoining them from lore sake. Her/she and N'Kuhana have a ton of overlap to where it isnt confusing. If you want the details in full ill link it to you

I mean, you could, but normally a $500 PC outperforms consoles by a decent amount, so it’s probably a good idea to wait a little bit (unless you can somehow get RAM at below market price, like if you have some leftover from another device or something).
Even used, everybody knows about the RAM situation. Nobody will be letting go of their used RAM for a reasonable price.
A $500 PC 2 years ago was very different from a $500 PC today.

It doesn't out perform a console but my $400 steam deck I've had since launch runs risk of rain 2 just fine (although I hook it up to a monitor to play with keyboard and mouse)

I mean yeah, if you want to precisely match a console it probably will be a little over $500 even at normal RAM and SSD prices (could be less than $500 with normal GPU prices, but this is the new normal), but there are a lot of advantages to a $600 PC over a $500 console. Console has its advantages as well, of course, but for risk of rain I’d lean towards recommending PC.

Except no it isn't. The logical choice here is the Xbox or PlayStation route. Both give you immediate access to all current titles for cheaper than what you're suggesting.
Buying someone's used 500 dollar PC, when they probably already owned it for 5+ before selling it is crazy. Upgrade prices are crazy as well. The only real benefit is mods and piracy. We're not really in an age where it's feasible to suggest a low end PC is an "investment"

It was 194 days for announcement to release of Alloyed Collective, 292 for Seekers. I think it's fair to say at most a year, at least 6 months; and likely somewhere in between. 7-8 months puts us around a late November to mid December release, which sounds realistic.

More than happy for the devs to take their time. SOTS release shows what happened when they're rushed, and Alloyed Collective shows what happens when they're given time to cook.

Even more so I'd say that SOTS was what happens when you make completely unrelated developers pick up spaghetti code after indie devs.
Not trying to flame Hopoo in any way. Just that it's REALLY hard to work on code that you're seeing for the first time in your life. Add being rushed to the mix and you get the SOTS release, which could've been MUCH worse.
Alloyed Collective was basically the proof that they have a great vision for the game. And honestly, despite the difficulties of SOTS, I'm happy they are working on the game now. Playing the game before SOTS carried a very sad vibe to me. It felt like nothing was changing and was never gonna change, and RoR2 is such a great playground for all manners of new content. Hope we see the game go further than PetrichorV.

inb4 "skill issue", but is EnemiesReturns not wildly unbalanced for anyone else?
I ended up removing it from my modlist because it was insane how bullet spongey the Totem boss was, as well as it and its minions hitting far harder than any other boss comparatively (while playing on Monsoon).

The modded version is one of the most fun modded survivors.
He has a main passive called "Gold Rush" which gives him adrenaline the more gold he gets. Which in turn gives him a movement speed and attack speed buff. But it goes down when you aren't collecting gold. Encouraging you to constantly stay in the fight. Really fun (and can be broken with that Piggy Bank item from Items Return)

Eh I’d be more concerned differentiating from merc. Miner uses iframes to stay close and keep up aggression, not necessarily dishing out burst damage the way loader does.

I never plays RoR1 or Returns so I'm not too sure what Miner does to begin with, but like the other guy said the modded character is pretty fun.
There's no character that directly plays with gold, so maybe there's something. Okay well Drifter and Captain's hacking beacons kinda do but I'm sure there's more to do.

Playing modded Miner is amazing. Just as an example.
If anything, his abilities feel more at home in a 3D space. I mained Miner in 1, and I'd take playing him in 2 any day of the week. Actually good controls facilitate such a great experience.

Damp Caverns makes me think of Miner, and since the update is about N'kuhana then I'm guessing the other one will be some kind of necromancer.

Honestly one of the worse parts of Steam. Achievements should definitely be able to be separated by DLC just like PlayStation.

Yeah. It kind of removes the point of pursuing Plats for Ongoing games. I don't wanna have to grind all the time. Just separate achievements by DLC and display them like that. If I feel like it, I'll grind them to plat too without having to lose my general plat.

You mean like, the 100% achievements/trophies? Probably, each dlc adds like 3-4 new achievements, usually for the unlockable survivor(s), the new artifact and something else

With the mentions of overcoming "powerful curses", I'm wondering if Curses are going to be a new type of game modifier that's going to be added in this DLC.
I'm also hoping we get more enemies and teleporter bosses than the other DLCs, too XD
