General Discussion Beth doesn’t get enough credit for how intelligent she is
Rick usually dominates every conversation about intelligence, but Beth is clearly capable of thinking for herself. I wish the show explored her scientific abilities and ambitions more often. Do you think she could ever surpass Rick in any field?

President Curtis I know Rick DGAF but wouldn't a super alien race coming to earth to harvest its cute Gobobear energy supply sort of impact him, thus, warranting him to intervene?
Also, I love the fact that President Curtis has truly achieved full independence from Rick 😂

General Discussion One of my favorite things about Morty’s Mindblower episode Spoiler
Is the knock on clip shows in family guy or simpsons where they just reuse old content for a “new episode” but really the thing that always make me chuckle is Rick saying he has to sometimes do some light editing on the memories to make them more watchable - I lowkey wish the episode would end and on the post credits scene we just see Rick behind a laptop meticulously editing a specific memory and getting flustered at the process. That is all! Also: Rick’s boogeraides-aidesbooger joke about needing to do better file names (the day I finally started putting hard month-day-year format in my creative project files was a game changer for the long term especially when I find myself trying to find a specific idea or work).

Theory Evil Morty is obsessed with Morty Prime.
Mind you, this is nothing like the "Beth Space" and "Beth Domestic" situation—we saw in Season 6, Episode 3 that Rick has been with other Ricks, and Jerry has been with other Jerrys; the writers often make these "selfcest" jokes. The relationship between Morty and Evil Morty isn't like that—well, hopefully not, because that would be too predictable. Evil Morty wants Morty to be like him—an equal—and seeks his validation. In the Season 5 finale, "Rickmurai Jack," during the dinner at the Citadel, Evil Morty explains his plan to Morty in detail and implicitly invites him to leave the Ricks behind once and for all. No other Morty was given such consideration; to him, most are just manipulated idiots, but he sees our Morty as someone who "almost" gets it. Evil Morty offers for Morty to come along, but our Morty chooses to save Rick C-137 from the wreckage instead. Evil Morty then remarks, "Good thing I lied—the second seat is actually a toilet"—though that was likely a lie, too. In Season 7, when they go after Rick Prime, Evil Morty opens a portal and acts indifferent, saying, "Come if you want, or don't—I don't care." When the portal closes, Evil Morty returns and asks, "I thought you were coming?" In other words, Evil Morty is always the one taking the initiative—like in Season 9, when he greets Morty upon arriving at the garage with a "Hey, Morty." Morty doesn't even respond, just giving him a cold stare. Furthermore, during the fight with Rick C-137, Evil Morty uses telekinesis to nudge Morty out of the way—he doesn't lay a finger on him, despite all the other Ricks and Mortys he has killed. Evil Morty represents absolute nihilism. Upon escaping the Central Finite Curve, he achieved "total freedom," only to discover that being completely alone... The infinite multiverse is meaningless if you have no one with whom to share or validate it. • Existential void: Evil Morty has no real family, nor does he have an "equal." He harbors resentment because our Morty Prime possesses the same intellectual capacity for rebellion, yet chose to use it to remain within the family unit. (In Season 1, Morty led the kidnapped Mortys—this is likely what caught Evil Morty’s attention.) Evil Morty uses the Omega Device—stolen from Rick Prime—to coerce Rick C-137 into carrying out missions and secretly exchanging messages. This stems from the failure of the idea that Rick C-137 was somehow "different" in his treatment of Morty; this season confirms that, at his core, Evil Morty remains a Morty. He employed a new version of the Omega Device to threaten Rick C-137: if Rick failed to complete his weekly interdimensional assignments, Evil Morty would erase every version of the Smith family across the multiverse. Rick was left with no choice but to comply. • Instilling distrust: Evil Morty deliberately left clues so that Morty Prime would discover the messages. He wanted our Morty to feel betrayed, worthless, and "replaced" by a more intelligent version of himself.
• The mockery at the restaurant: During the scene in the café, Evil Morty openly taunts Morty Prime, claiming he is "not good enough for Rick." He even takes a direct jab at him, suggesting he could steal Rick away if he truly wanted to. He says this not out of love for Rick, but because he knows how much Morty Prime loves his grandfather—he wanted to pay him back in kind for the rejection he himself experienced in Season 5.

Question Rick’s Father Wore Glasses? Spoiler
galleryIn Auto Erotic Assimilation Rick asks Unity to fill an entire stadium of men who “even remotely resemble” his father.
Now I’m curious, since we see the most consistent things besides the work shirt is the glasses, do you think he wore them for reading, seeing, or old age?
Because he could have just taken them off for the photo…
Also also!.. If he did wear glasses, could this be where that glasses Morty from the Citadel episode got his chances for it from?
Also also also!.. Does that mean the sunglasses dimension version of him wears glasses over his sunglasses since they’re his eyes? so many questions!!

General Discussion What Are Your Overall Thoughts on Rick and Morty Season 4? Spoiler
Many say that season 4 is the point where Rick and Morty's decline begins in reception compared to the previous seasons and in popularity. With some considering it to be one of the show's weaker seasons. So, I wanted to see if that is still the case now in 2026 compared to 2019-2020.
I thought this is season was fine.

Theory

General Discussion Story Lord = Finnegans Wake
I went down a wild rabbit hole last night after watching this short from Trevor Noah’s account.
The clip is part of an interview/podcast where British Comedian Jimmy Carr is discussing how Star Wars is essentially a TL/DR of James Joyce’s iconic work of literature, Finnegans Wake.
Jimmy mentions that his favourite investigation of Finnegans Wake is a dissertation by none other than Joseph Campbell. The same Joseph Campbell that appears as a Jedi ghost to Rick and Morty in the “Full Meta JackRick” (S6E7).
Joseph Campbell would later go on to write “The Hero With A Thousand Faces” which popularized the narrative device known as the Hero’s Journey, which is where George Lucas drew inspiration for writing Star Wars.
Full Meta JackRick is basically satirizing the narrative device by using Story Lord to try to force Rick and Morty into a conventional storytelling structure.
The Hero’s Journey heavily influenced Dan Harmon’s eight-part story circle, and although the first reference to Story Lord, “Never Ricking Morty” is a reference to “The Never-Ending Story”, it is also arguably a reference to circular writing, which both connects it to Harmon’s Story Circle but also to Finnegans Wake, which is written so that the last sentence of the story flows directly into the opening sentence of the story.
Hopefully some of you also find this connection to be interesting.

General Discussion If this season was how they decided to move for the past few, this would be a MUCH BETTER show! Spoiler
EDIT; THIS IS FOR SOLAR OPPOSITES, not posted there because it’s DOA
The comedy, the cohesive meshing of the characters playing off of each other with barely any stagnant moments. I haven’t been the type to salute any streaming companies but I actually have to give a hat tip to Hulu or whoever was snorting coke while writing some of these scenes. Strong premiere with a drop off that doesn’t ever seem to make an appearance.

General Discussion The timeline is just lazy writing. Change my mind.
They handled much more complicated things with ease, like how they've managed to keep the canon consistent since episode one! But they gotta make Morty and Summer the same age for years even though Bird Daughter is aging. Why not just send Summer to college? And age Morty up slowly? It won't change anything.
