[Achievement Unlocked!] Finished Chrono Trigger for the first time
I have such a difficult time finishing JRPGs. I can thankfully cross this one off. Great game!

Chrono Trigger is different for a JRPG because it literally has no grinding, you kill the necessary enemies along the path so it never turns tedious.

there are also only a few fights between rooms. I tried to play breath of fire a few years ago, fight every three steps.

Except then you try to go for the extra endings and every battle is completely trivial and you have to sit through them all anyway, repeatedly – especially when you don't know when to find the extra endings. Kinda spoiled the game for me eventually.

I can see how trying to complete the same game 13 times would spoil it for you.

I see the errors of my way. Fixed it and now have to play the game again to repent haha, but you are right. I will play it again.

First time I finished the game was in August 2025. Greatest game I’ve played on SNES.

I've finished all the side quests, but I'm kinda scared to take on the final battle. It's it tough?

It might take you a moment to figure out exactly what to do, but generally it's not much harder than the rest of the game. Especially after you get all the fancy equipment from the side quests. Spekkio's final form (when he's a pink Nu ) might be harder.
The first time you encounter Lavos (when you're kinda supposed to lose) is also harder than the final battle. (There's a nice video on the topic here if anyone's wondering.)

Thanks god I also made this and I won't ever play a jrpg in my whole life. It has been the most boring gaming experience in my whole life.

I like to read fun stuff
edit: actually the better answer is, when I want to read I read a book. When I want to play video games I want to fucking game
