Vent Reactive / timid dog road trip

Post image

My little Sasha boo. We just drove from LA to Bozeman, MT over three days. There have been times when I’ve wondered if she’d be better off with a sitter or in a well-vetted boarding/day care place than traveling with me. I wonder if this might help her long term or if this is simply too much for her.

That drive was brutal. A new place to sleep the past three nights (including tonight). Ideally we really need to be in an Airbnb where she doesn’t hear other people and she can have some semblance of a yard. Peeing and pooping is a whole thing bc she’s been too on edge in most places to go. She’s peed inside twice (all good with me I’m just glad she’s going).

She settles super well in the car, is always SUPER excited to get out of the car and explore, but sometimes we don’t make it out for about 5 minutes before she’s yanking me back to the car. We don’t have to pack up and go anywhere else for at least a week now. Sigh.
