I am a staff member at Queens and I wasn’t able to attend the Financial information forum. Was anything notable or important mentioned?

Why have no buses been on time through megabus for the past few weeks? This situation is ridiculous. Every bus is cancelled or delayed at least an hour. And they never send out emails that the buses are delayed. Whomever is running this organization needs to be fired.

I was looking at the admission requirements and grade calculation for the Arts and Science (physics program), and it says your average has to be a minimum of 80%. Most results on reddit post gave a range of them having 89-97%. I added up my pre reqs and additional two 4U classes and my average is 89%.
Can I possibly get in? Have people with similar averages got in before? Am I screwed? What do I do?
Someone please help.

I was wondering if anyone had the old cisc 124 practice test from Samir Mohammed because I know he only posts it like a day before.

First year here, I can see my exam times but I can’t see my exam locations. How do I check that?

I am trying to swap a clst 150 with physics 116 next semester it says physics 116 is open but when I try and swap them using solus it tells me its full. I have heard that sometimes classes open up before the next semester is this something that typically happens or will I have to wait next year to take physics 116

For my upcoming midterms, I selected the in-person option in SOLUS, but I realized that just means where the exam is held, not whether it's paper and pen.
I really dislike online exams because I find it harder to think clearly and end up wasting time correcting spelling mistakes when typing. On paper, I can just cross things out and focus on my answers.
I don't have a diagnosed disability or anything, so would Queen's let me write exams on paper just because I work better that way? Who should I contact, and has anyone successfully done this?
First year btw.

Has anyone taken CISC 124 with Samir Mohammed, or had him for any other course?
I'm wondering what his quizzes are usually like. Are they mainly multiple choice and true/false, or do they also include coding questions, short answers, or code tracing?
Any insight into his quiz format and difficulty would be appreciated. Thanks

Has anyone ever taken this course, I have seen literally nothing on the net about it. How is it in terms of difficulty, and time management? Just an NPC trying to take this NPC class.

this quiz is 10 multiple choice questions and is worth 10% of my grade but i honestly have no idea what to expect. like given that it's only multiple choice, what type of questions can they even ask? i have no idea and it's hard to find past examples.

Didn’t know they were that scummy. Driver says they’re sending another bus because they overbooked. (At 6:10 am). Turns out that was bullshit and they straight up did nothing. The CEOs email is [derrick.waters@coachusa.com](mailto:derrick.waters@coachusa.com)
Edit: Didn’t expect this to get so much traction. To clarify, the driver told us a replacement WAS coming. Had to wait 2 hours while the app told us the bus was coming to hear they never planned on accommodating us at all.

Hey everyone, I’m an international student at Queen’s, and this is going to be my first proper winter, let alone my first time seeing snow, so I’m pretty clueless about what I actually need.
I’m looking to get some good quality winter clothes that’ll last me a while. I’d prefer to avoid polyester and go for better materials like wool where possible.
Are there any good stores in Kingston that you’d recommend, especially ones students at Queen’s usually shop at? I’m also planning on visiting Toronto, so would it be worth getting my winter clothes from there instead? If so, what stores should i be looking at?
Also, what are the actual essentials for surviving a Kingston winter? Like thermals, gloves, hats, boots, jackets, long/trench coats, socks etc. Any particular brands or materials I should be looking for?
Would really appreciate some advice from people who’ve experienced a few winters here!

My bachelor in CSE CGPA is 3.40/4.00 from North South University, Bangladesh and I am aiming for a Masters degree in Computer Science in Queen's University for Fall 2027 intake. I'm currently taking preparation for the IELTS exam (hopefully by the end of October) and hoping to score band 7.5/7. Besides, I have 1 year of research experice and had 4 thesis experiences, and 3 year of job experience (non-CS field) during my undergraduate journey (No publication unfortunately) .
How likely is it possible for me to get an offer letter for the program, if I apply after clearing my IELTS exam ? Can anyone share me an insight regarding this ? Also, is there any possible to get funding of the Masters program I will be applying for ? I mean what are the chances of getting chance to study or also getting fundings if possible (through TA/RA ship maybe, as they mentioned minimum 20000 CAD funding available) ?
Also if my profile is not suitable, which other universities should I target for can you suggest, in Ontario :) Thanks in advance !

I'm looking at applying for an AMS position in the next hiring cycle and wanted to hear from people who've actually worked there before I commit to anything. To be clear, I don't mean the service jobs like TAPS or CoGro. I'm talking about the internal side, like the commission and office roles where you're mostly dealing with other AMS staff and whoever you report to.
Mainly I'm wondering what the management is like and whether people felt their time there was well spent. I've heard mixed things secondhand but nothing concrete, so I'd rather hear it from someone who's been in it. If you've worked there or know someone who has, how was it? DMs are fine too if you'd rather not say it publicly.
