Probably only unfair in the sense that you can’t brute force a satellite dish to those kinds of speeds.
I don’t think they’re interested in preserving older technologies. They’re just no longer interested in pressuring them to adapt.

They're definitely not, this is about propping up Starlink as a handout to Musk because it can't actually compete with landline fiber in terms of cost, speed, or throughput/bandwidth.

If rural communities had a superior alternative to Starlink wouldn't people go with that? Then you remove that option. Elon bought the regulation he wanted. That's what capitalists do.
