Could be spoofed, but usually just a scam caller. My favorite way to deal with them is to pick an uncommon language that I know a few phrases in and immediately after hello, switch to that and start yelling at them in random gibberish made up of German, Spanish and a bit of Korean🤣🤣🤣

Please don’t do that, couldn’t it be possible that this is someone from the government? Numbers starting with 2 are usually government people

I at least wait for them to identify themselves before I start with the shenanigans. If it’s official, 99.9% of the time, after the initial greeting, they identify themselves and state the purpose of their call. I’m not randomly cursing government officials out here🤣🤣🤣 I may be a bit of a barbarian, but I’m not completely unhinged🤣🤣

Could be spoofed yeah, a lot of those robocallers do that now. Truecaller misses a ton of them anyway.

While it's true govt numbers start with 2, but they're usually 7 digits not 8, so this is a 50/50 chance

I don't think they'd add one more digit, it's not like they'd run out of numbers.

Like someone said, it's spoofed in particular to entrap the people who know govt. numbers start with 2. Perhaps 8 digit numbers are easier to spoof than 7; Ooredoo does have spam filters working overtime.

We just gotta stop from giving our phone numbers to 'loyality programs' which sells our data
