finally beat Final Fantasy IX for the first time in my life

Such a beautiful game, easily my favorite after FF7. Could not beat Ozma though...

Edit: I beat Ozma, yay!!

Its the first Final Fantasy and 1st RPG Im able to finished, after this i would play VIII then VII

Nice!! I played it a lot like 25 years ago but I didn't know english back then so I could never progress the right way or follow the story haha Yesterday really felt like closure :)

Honestly I don't know what the hell I'm doing wrong, he always uses Death lv5 and/or meteor... doesn't matter that I have auto-regen and auto-life on everyoneI'll save him for another adventure, gotta keep my memory card saves though! Any tactical tips for the future?

Did you do the friendly monster sidequest? It makes him a bit easier by making him weak to Shadow damage.

Yes I did. I've decided to give it another go, with Zidane, Steiner, Garnet and Freya in my party, all equipped with auto-haste-regen-reflect!

I think there’s a bunch of armor that reduces dark/shadow damage. That’s a must for starters.

I had leveled up pretty well before meeting with Ozma (which I never beat), so the fight with Kuja was not that hard. But I'm going back right now to an older save to build up a new strategy for Ozma, I can't leave this game behind until he's beaten!

I pretty much had the opposite experience. Mind you i last played the game when it was first released in the ps1, and i distinctly remember the fight with ozma was not that hard, but i had an awful time beating kuja, primarily because i went for a mage party and got bombarded with his flare star attack at every turn, turning it into a horrible micromanage reviving the party.

for all the final fantasy bosses i've played, kuja, by far, is the one i remember the most, by virtue of how horrible he made his fight with me on that game.

Then next to THE END shows up a question mark for a split second saying you still have more to do to complete the game. Along with a maniacal laugh.
