PoE2: Deadfire The music volume during battles is low (Debian)

I started to play this game some weeks ago. Everything works fine, expect the music which is low during battles. I don't have any issue with the music during exploration. I use the latest version of Debian and the native version of the game (GOG). This is not a critical issue, but it's kind of annoying. I’ve done a bit of research, but I didn't find any solution. Any idea ?

Pillars of eternity MOBiLE

Bugs No option for Dunstan to forge the Blade of the Endless Paths

Dunstan is NOT CURRENTLY HOSTILE, not in the War Room, and is at his Forge. I have all four parts of the blade but he will not give me the option to forge it. He just has the standard 4 dialogue options. Can I just not complete this quest?

Character/party build help Poe1 - Beginner tank build (first playthrough)

Hello

I d like to play my first PoE playthrough with my player as a tank. I'm not looking to be invulnerable but I want feel like I'm able to hold the line and retaliate on the enemies.

All the recommandation I have found so far on the internet have been very complicated to understand (maybe to much detail for my compréhension)

I am planning to play real time instead of turn based.

Which class could I play ?

It seems I could play

Fighter, paladin, chanter, monk ?

Any recommandation on stats I should prioritize on which classes ?

Thank you for your time

PoE1 man this dungeon is good!!!

i decided to roam a little after the catacomb story quest so i did raedric castle and now the endless path dungeon its really good lots of good stuff too that sabre gonna do wonder on my rogue.... i'm gonna stop as i killed level 5 drake boss and come back later for the rest.

the ogre boss on level 3 was the toughest fight lol i ended up placing eder in the first entrance blocking the path so they cant gang me up so he's the one who take all the damage and this guy is tanky as fuck.... he survived for soo long. while my archer and mage killed the ogre and everyone buffing eder ass then i sent my rogue to the other entrance to finish the boss when we were finally in a 1v6 surprisingly the shaman was the tankiest by far.

i really like the rogue since the moment i unlocked the reckless assault modal skill he's been an absolute beast of a glass canon crazy damage output with dual wield...

PoE1 Enchantments!

Post image
172 Upvotes

I wish this game had expanded enchantment system. Something similar to being able to learn all those special properties from artifacts you find during your travels, and put them on any weapon/equipment you have.

There is so much cool stuff (like spellstriking), but for some reason it is attached to the most ugliest weapon pieces imaginable (I hate all those stilettos). Just give me a classic longsword with "Jolting Touch", or "Flames of Devotions" enchantment (also from stiletto...).

I know there is a similar mod which does exactly what I described, but I just feel like cheating doing this.

A man can dream I guess.

Feedback on team comp, deadfire TB, Potd

Hey guys

I have done a lot of thinking/researching to make a cool team for deadfire, and I would like to hear your thoughts on the team overall, and on some specific character builds.

I am currently finishing up pillars 1 while planning my deadfire party, so please don't spoil story for either game. I have no issue hearing about available weapons a and their stats. I have reached Nekataka before realizing that I should probably start with pillars 1, so I am pretty familiar with the game mechanics.

I will use unity mod to change classes/subclasses on companions so I can use my cool builds and still bring the companions.

My team is:

- Watcher paladin st. Elga/beguiler, main tank doing debuffs primarily on his action. I like cipher for helping my tactician maintain brilliant. I am going for paladin for their team buffs and utility and for raw tank stats (opposed to a fighter). I plan to take only 3 in might, since this character is just there to support the others, and I think Beguiler will add enough focus to make damage irrelevant. Going for a death godlike since I hear they have interesting/unique dialogue.

- Eder trickster rogue/devoted sabres for single target dmg. Since no one else in the team specialize in single target, his role will pretty much be to execute priority targets quickly, and kill bosses. I am using trickster so he doesn't die while he's on his own hunting prior targets. I am considering if it would be better to go for trickster/berserker or maybe devoted/berserker so he can contribute in AoE fights, which if the game is similar to poe1, will be most of them. I must admit I love the idea of mob stance/carnage chain-finishing enemies, and AoE proccing the -25 will and/or fortitude weapon modals also sound appealing, which pulls me a bit toward devoted/Berzerker, but I am not sure if I am giving up too much single target damage for it.

- Pallegina tactician/skald so she can perma-cc with killers froze stiff and the stun and throw in the occasional damage invocation or fighter ability, or just an auto attack if I have no resources. I expect most phrases to come from brilliant and chanting, but critting can probably generate some phrases as well.

- Aloth wizard, either evoker or blood mage. Not sure if the chance of double spells is better than the +PL and sustained spells from blood.

-Xoti priest/troubadour. I've read that Gaun sucks, so I might respec her, but not sure which priest subclasses are good and fit my team. I am thinking troubadour as subclass because in my poe 1 run, where I am lvl 14, I don't use the high level priest spells that much, but would like to have more passive chanter buffs. Guessing the same applies in deadfire.

Any thoughts on the comp in general or about the specific character builds?

Thanks in advance!

PoE1 Increasing chance to hit

I hit a wall at the Siege of Craigholt. Party is lv13 and the issue I’m having is extremely low hit chance. I buff my team’s accuracy but any debuffs I try to put on the enemy tend to have the following hit chances: Mostly 0%, occasional 4%, and the weakest enemy of the group: 34%. Damaging or CC spells are almost entirely 0% as well. And this is with a perception bonus on rest and the best equipment I have. I can’t even get Pull or Eora to hold enemies long enough to be worth it. They just ignore it and walk through like it’s a warm summer breeze.

How can I increase chance to hit on these guys?

PoE2: Deadfire Unknown Cash Exploit? - Deadfire

Hey, long time lurker, just putting this here as I hadn’t seen it anywhere else. But did anyone know that you can reach the max integer value with some venders by buying large amounts of resources like hard tack? It loops around and you end up being a trillionaire as well as the owner of an endless supply of water or hard tack.

Obviously very exploity, but it can take some of the headache out of the game on the umpteenth playthrough.

Mod Out of Spite Vibe Coded Controller Support Mod for PC

I have been trying to get into this game for a few months but my god i cannot get used to the Steam templates to make it work. What really pissed me off was that there is a literal console version of this game with controller support. Which is not on PC . So here is a vibe coded controller support mod i made while angry. I will consider this a success if it saves even one more person's playthrough.

PoE1 Shops with Ingredients

I just realized that shops with ingredients respawn after you rest. Remember all this equipment you have and love, but can not upgrade because all those Vithrack Brains (or gems) are nowhere to be found until late stage of the game? Apparently not any more.

I just rest at Caed Nua and fast travel to Ondra's Gift in Defiance Bay, both Cartugo and that Shady Gem guy have their inventory restocked.

Other Sorry but I have to share this, made my game-day 🤣

I'm new to such strategic RPGs like PoE and it actually seems that I indeed missunderstood some of the skills, so here's how Google AI fully relates to my pain with Athletics skill 🙈

(Note: I only used the names of the chars, did not provide any background infos myself, I can prove that, it's just in German)

"I completely understand why this feels absolutely wrong to you. Logically speaking, you’d think: ‘Eder is the fit soldier on the front line – surely he must be more athletic than a fat, drunken priest and a singing scholar!"

PoE1 Follower's Unique Equipment

The longer I play, the more I notice how some of the equipment which your companions wear is actually great.

For example, I almost always sold "Aloth's Leather Armor", but now I realized that it's 10% AoE effect is actually great, since it frees your ring slot, and you can always enchant it with desirable effect (INT/DEX), making it one of the best armor equipment (IMO).

"Durance's Robe". Since Durance suffer from low DEX (Which he REALLY needs), robes are the only suitable equipment he can wear without hampering him further. You can give it DEX enchantment which again frees one of his equipment slots IN ADDITION having unique CON bonus as a default. The only time I replace his robe is once I get to White March and can buy "Raiment of Wael's Eyes".

"Durance's Staff" has unique Crush/Burn Damage effect which is great. Just give it a "Quality" enchantment and it will serve you for a very long time.

Is there is anything else you think should be mentioned?

Edit: Ok, just realized "Durance's Robe" can not be further enchant to give DEX/INT bonuss, since CON already considered as one. Which makes it basically worthless now.

Who to bring for interesting dialogue in Cragholdt?

I've trawled the internet and found no opinions on this. Any thoughts on who are there most interesting companions to bring to Cragholdt?

I love a philosophical or political angle, so I know which companions I generally like, but I am not sure if any of them have some unique perspectives on that part of the game.

I love Durance, but he had very little to say in twm, so if any companions are similar in Cragholdt, I'd rather use the slot on another companion.

Also, are the characters from twm interesting in Cragholdt?

Please no spoilers.

PoE2: Deadfire New Deadfire The Ultimate completion: Priest of Berath / Bloodmage

Actually finished back in July but I still haven't heard back from Obsidian. Follow-up messages also received no response so my best guess is they aren't validating/approving The Ultimate submissions anymore as it's been 3 months and we all know they've been through a bunch of corporate turmoil. So fair warning for anyone that takes on this challenge going forward, there may not be a cool JESawyer patch/letter in your future.

Mechanically the build is very similar to the very popular Priest of Skaen / Bloodmage but I wanted to do a subclass combo no one has done yet.

This run was the culmination of around 8 or so practice/failed attempts. One left me running out of time right as I arrived at Ukaizo (which almost caused me to give up completely haha).

Ultimately (pun), I took a different path than most others that have completed this challenge. Also did my own spin on some stuff to avoid problematic sections (like the absurd stealthing attempt through the catacombs -- I never could quite get the stealth timing right there so I took a different approach)

I basically went:

1) Port Maje
2) Neketaka
3) Hasongo / Deadlight / Dunnage
4) Back to Neketaka
5) Stealth through the Observatory to get the Brilliant cloak
6) Ashen Maw
7) Cave Grub / Water Dragon / Concelhaut
8) Beast of Winter DLC
9) Forgotten Sanctum
10) Hellfire Colossus / Voracious Mountain
11) Seeker Slayer Survivor
12) Nemnok / Belranga
13) And finally Sigilmaster and Ukaizo

I tried to optimize my route as much as possible to minimize world travel. I ended up at Ukaizo with about 14 days of in-game time left.

Full playthrough is here:

PoE2: Deadfire How restricting is Eothas' challenge?

I never paid much attention to how much in game time passes so I don't know how much content one could do in the 80 day limit. Is it possible to handle base plus dlcs or is that simply unrealistic?

Pillars of Eternity questions, any help/ advice would be fantastic.

So I began a few days ago, and am really enjoying this game. I want to experience it blind, so I dont want to search anything and possibly ruin parts of it from holding the same depth. So I turn to my favorite source of all information, Reddit.

1.) Should I leave places and go back if im struggling to clear the area? The Shades/Shadows in Temple of Eothas are really giving me a go of it.. ive been able to kill them all mostly, but there are these 3 I need to fight at once, and I allllllmost did it right before making this post. But the last Shadow killed my last Character. Is it common to leave areas then to return to them at a later time, or no?

2.) Hiring help. Should I recruit a generic adventurer, or wait until I find named characters to help me?

I am only in the first village with the bodies in the tree, and the temple down the stairway. And i actually just defeated the Shadows!!

But still. If any of yinz would be kind enough to bestow upon this old adventurer any tips to surviving the horrors of the world, I am all ears. My character is a Wood Elf, Ranger, Aedyr - Dissident

Mig 15 /Con 10 / Dex 12 / Per. 15 / Int 13 / Res 11

.i am in that old temple at level 3. My beast is a lion

Another is the only person that has joined me so far. And I do really want to experiece the game as blind as possible. Which is Hella difficult in our day & age. And i know asking Reddit for advice is kinda NOT that lol.

I dont want any cheat codes or cheap tricks. Just some advice because the load screens go by too fast to gain any info from them that way

That feeling of Aloth finally killing the final Shadow is a big reason why I play video games

Im playing on Easy. Because ive never played this type of game.

Thank you for considering helping me. Forgive me, I am on a cell phone and its difficult to get posts to look good

Looking for build advice to make use of RES & INT, maybe PER in PoE1

I have googled around for this but I've found it difficult to find up-to-date information on exactly what I'm looking for.

I've tried to play through PoE1 many times but always stall out somewhere in act 2. I kind of struggle with RTwP combat yet want to use it since turn-based isn't the original and feels so slow.

So for my latest attempt to play, I'd like to use a character that's suited to having access to lots of dialogue options which seems to mean having good RES, INT & PER and some skills too at least as far as PoE1 goes.

What kind of builds can make use of those well, or at least a couple of them, & aren't crazy difficult to play since I'm not really a RTwP person? They seem naturally suited to tanks but then I see lots of people talk about how dedicated tanks don't work well in this game outside of something like Eder with lots of engagement slots.

Thanks in advance.

Discussion Any Xbox folks have Pillars of Eternity Complete Edition

I just contacted Paradox about getting turn based mode on PoE Complete Edition via a collaboration with Obsidian or Paradox getting it done themselves. Not really a Complete Edition anymore imo. Any other Xbox users (Playstation users as well) out there willing to contact Paradox so maybe it might get noticed up the food chain there? Not tech smart but they should be able to do this right? Thanks to anyone that throws a request their way. Sent an email and posted a question on paradox forums.
