Armadon: people who value the Earth and protection of nature overall. Miners are farmers are familiar with working with the Earth and would be well at home in or near the hollows. You also have eco-activists and hippies who value nature more than civilization. Finally, many first nations tribes from the former Americas may find a link between Armadon and natural spirits.

Blizzard: people who are generally good nature and will help others, such as medical practitioners and humanitarians. The introduction of the draconians would cause a huge divide among religious groups, with some more open-minded people believing Blizzard is the real god while others would accuse it of being a false god (and probably perish due to their refusal to adapt). Finally we have Tibetan monks who, given that Blizzard was trapped in the Himalayas would have been secretly aware of his existence, while Inuit tribes and people who generally can handle colder climates be fully capable of living in his domain.

Chaos: people who are well-meaning but clouded by hatred, xenophobia, paranoia or visions of an ideal world. There will be a lot of degeneracy and debauchery. Also people who refuse to ally with the other gods and believe that a once-human draconian is better suited to lead the world despite the obvious decay happening around them. Politicians would also fight for the opportunity to be Chaos' right-hand man and stir discourse try to convince the masses that they're the right fight while their opponent is a threat. Then you would have mad doctors who will try to replicate Chaos' experiments. Finally, police officers who won't hesitate to use brutality will join the ranks.

Diablo: as per the game's profile, people who are cruel and vicious. We have serial killers, murderers, drug cartels, terrorists, and abusers. The ultra-wealthy, who are more than willing to sacrifice human lives to further their own gain, will not hesitate to try to bargain with Diablo for a chance to achieve great power.

Sauron: people who believe that those with power greater than themselves will prevail. Those who are susceptible to the influence of cults will blindly worship the god of hunger and be more than willing to give their own life to satisfy it. Those apt at hunting big game with a kill or be killed mentality may share Sauron's value, and may survive by trading large bounty in exchange for their lives to be spare. Fishermen might also fair better due to their proximity to the ocean which they're familiar with and being at sea may spare them from Sauron's hunger. People who used to drive large trucks believe that bigger is better and will blindly put their faith in the larger draconian. Finally those in the military are more than willing to give up their lives for their fellow soldiers and also believe that attacking first is the way to go.

Talon: this one was a bit harder, but came down to a mix of the more vulnerable and survivalists. Orphans and those who are mentally impaired may be attracted by Talon's "cool" factor who in term may show some mercy on them as he is a father himself. Of course his priority is his own tribe so they may just end up being treated like pets and cattle. Some people who are very lazy will be perfectly content with being hand-fed in exchange for being chased with butterfly nets. Meanwhile, because Talon's South Pacific island crashed into the mainland and because his domain is the strip, he probably first encountered Amazonian tribes and nature survivalists perfectly suited to live in the jungle.

Vertigo: people who are insane. First we have heavy drug users who will due the goddess' bidding in exchange for a fix. Dangerous psychopaths will gladly obey her commands whispered in their fragile minds while acting as the militia. Being the only female draconian, Vertigo will also attract misandrists, while her sorcery will appeal to those interested in witchcraft. The greater majority of her worshippers will actually be hypnotized are forced to serve against their will.

me and my brother played the snes version when i was like 5 and he was 13 so of course i got destroyed. now as an adult i bought the ps2 version and practice for some weeks with friends. and my brother is very busy and barley even a gamer. he has never played any version besides the snes version and even that he hasn't touched in 10+ years.

we finally get a chance to play and his armadon beats my blizzard 8 times in a row. and keep in mind im not bad at games like there are other games i can beat him at. but i couldnt even get 1 win. younger brother curse?? wtfffff

It has potential and there are all sorts of kaiju!

So two things right away:

1. the copy protection is still not cracked, but better is better.
2. The developer leveraged AI to do it. People have feelings about that, so I thought I would put it out front.

You can build these new commits today if you want to try it out, or wait until the next full MAME release. The build process can take a while, so be prepared to just type 'make' and walk away for a few hours.

Asturur pulled center of mass values from the PSX version of all places. It's all there, apparently.

Though Armonte's work in FBNeo is currently the most accurate, MAME making advances is great news.

Edits:

These fixes apply to all three revisions of Primal Rage. In practical terms, this means the most accurate way to play version 1.7 is just MAME now, pretty much by default. The next closest was Sega 32X, and that's more of a blend of two different versions.

The most accurate way to play 2.3 J was Midway Arcade Treasures 2, on original Xbox specifically. Though now, MAME has entered that conversation as a contender.

Background info:

Each frame of animation has a Center of Mass value attached to it in an X and Y coordinate. These values are the cause of a lot of Primal Rage's gameplay issues. If the game does not find the FPGA, then these values get botched resulting in the many problems we're all familiar with: bad hitboxes, clipping under or above the floor on knockdown, animation clipping, the works.

Other problems like the color of blood are the result of emulation bugs, not center of mass. However, these problems were also addressed.
