vent God I regret it sometimes
Bloody hell, we worked hard at polyamory but it got to the point where it was too much for me so I ended things. I lost an amazing metamour (we don't talk anymore) and a future life I had pictured very clearly for a very long time.
Looking back, it wasn't polyamory, it was us being too young. I really regret that my ex was the first person I did it with. With everything we know now, if we met now... I think we could have made it work. Maybe not. But honestly probably.
Time is sick. That's life I guess.

Hi u/TestSignificant2678 thanks so much for your submission, don't mind me, I'm just gonna keep a copy what was said in your post. Unfortunately posts sometimes get deleted - which is okay, it's not against the rules to delete your post!! - but it makes it really hard for the human mods around here to moderate the comments when there's no context. Plus, many times our members put in a lot of emotional and mental labor to answer the questions and offer advice, so it's helpful to keep the source information around so future community members can benefit as well.

It's easy to say that looking back, but keep in mind you have the knowledge now only because you had this experience. It was necessary for you to reach the point where you can look back and feel like you could handle it differently now.
When I look back with shame, sadness, or embarrassment because I was ignorant or immature, I know it's because I've grown from who I was. But at the time I was sincerely doing the best with what I had and I'm sure the same is true for you and those you were involved with<3
