Yeah, that's the frustrating part. It's not even that we have problems, every country does. It's that we seem intent on making them harder to solve.

Debt problem? Cut taxes for the rich, add more money to the military, declare war!

Public health problem? Put a vaccine skeptic conspiracy theorist in charge of health and human services.

Cost of living crisis? Tariff the shit out of everything!

Yeah, the USA have so many advantages that we are just squander them away. Self inflicted wounds.

Japan is also making the same mistakes, they are in much worse shape than us, aging population, sluggish economy, weak yen... yet they are trying to kill any foreign investments and tourism, making harder for people who are ALREADY permanent resident, who are running businesses and hiring japanese.

its so weird to talk about American issues

its either treason to say anything is a problem, either love it or leave it or some kind of "this awful practice deserves to happen because the victims must be morally wrong" argument

"thats just how things are" and either everyone else does it or its worse elsewhere or its impossible for America to do what others can

or its some weird fatalism that nothing on earth matters, only heaven

On rednote Americans were crying when they saw poorer countries had universal healthcare, on tiktok Americans were crying they were alive on the day the rapture was supposed to happen

and with AI there is a sense of "I need it because I wasnt born with the right genes to draw"

its learned helplessness on a societal scale while they crying they woke up alive in America and say its the best country ever.

America's problem is hate. Too many people vote against their good public policies and candidates that would help them and their communities, because of bigotry.

We keep shooting ourselves in the foot and then blaming everyone else for the limp. At this point it's not bad luck, it's bad policy on repeat.

Correction: REPUBLICANS, not just MAGA, have made America’s problems worse. Democratic administrations=lower Deficits and better growth; Republican administrations=Larger deficits and lesser growth. If anyone remembers, the last US budget surpluses were under Bill Clinton, a very responsible financial steward and as flawed a person as he was.

And do not believe for one second that the Bulwark, Lincoln Project or 3rd way wants to do anything other than remove the corrupt, narcissistic, addled Trump from their ability to reenable Neo-Conservative political policies and Neo-Liberal economic policies. They want to continue the project PNAC Neo-Cons started in late 1990s-early 2000s as well as Trickle down economics, just with more liberal social positions. They’re happy as pigs in shit with unregulated Capitalism proceeding as before Trump. They just don’t like Trumps irrationality, which affects the stability of markets and their ability to control markets. 3rd way is packed with corporate donors, military industrial lobbyists, megalomaniacal billionaires, Israel lobbyists and a rogues galley of anti-progressive entities pledging $15 Million to campaign against Democrats. Not against REPUBLICANS, Democrats.

Watch THIS video from David Sirota and read this article from TNR to see how they’re trying to make sure no progressives or DSA members get elected.

Edit:added a link and tweaked some language

As would be expected of an empire in decline.
