Possible Paywall IRS Hides Report on How Trump’s Tax Cuts Have Ruined America | The IRS is refusing to publish a report on the real impacts of Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

I mean cutting Medicaid, SNAP was pretty fucked up and will only take actual effect after the midterms because they know it'll look bad
Like a fucked up reverse Robin hood steal from the poor to give to the rich

u/MiddleAgedSponger 12h ago
It's already bad and some of the worse parts haven't even gone into effect yet. Diaper Don will convince his followers, with the help of the media, that this is all the democrats fault.

u/starliteburnsbrite 8h ago
in an age of limitless access to everyone through phones, social media, and the internet, there should be no excuse for the Dems to not have a better strategy for opposing conservative mainstream media control other than, 'uh, i guess they own it all'

But Robinhood only makes sense as a concept because steal from the poor and give to the rich is the default way it goes.

You can't understand the concept of 'reverse' ?
11
u/RufioXIII America 9h ago
He's saying reverse of Robinhood is the status quo of how things have been for most of human existence. Robinhood only makes sense because it inverts that status quo.

u/BoofsaMillion 5h ago
A reverse Robin hood would just be a tax collector with a gun "You've just been audited." BANG!

The IRS is what holds tax cheats accountable.
Trump weakening the agency is what his donors have wanted for decades.
But there is a drawback it puts the IRS in the spotlight so the next admin would focus on strengthening the agency since it feels like the GOP are on the road to becoming a minority party.

The CEO of the IRS milked the last corporation he worked for. Pumped the stock and left it for the next guy. He was able to sell all the stock he owned without penalty because he was tapped by his buddy Don to run a government agency.
Literally make millions off the company, then after he left the stock tanked because he wasn't 100% truthful about where some contracts came from (not overt fraud, but not real customers either). He also seems to be drunk 90% of the time, and cared more about having butts in seats than actual productivity.

u/Hawgdestroyerxtreme 5h ago
they need to fire 100% of people hired after 2024 in all agencies, and a few special cases of people hired before 2024.

Ahead of the midterm elections, the Trump administration is withholding detailed information that will illustrate how President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act hurt millions of Americans. The data from the IRS was initially scheduled to be released in July and updated in September, but the agency hasn’t filed either

Back in 2019 there was an article that detailed how Trump's 2018 tax cuts were going to have dangerous impacts 10 years from now,
Its a lot worse now than then because Trump is running out of things to cuts,

I'm a single professional engineer and my taxes did not decrease at all.

My wife and I had a significantly smaller refund than multiple years before
•
u/InevitableAd8511 2h ago
Last year we got a refund of 2k. This year we owe 3600. Our finances and earnings are identical.

u/SkateboyAtl 9h ago
Please stop wording it as a refund. You overpaid your taxes and you gave the government a tax free loan.

I am recently divorced and so I moved from paying taxes with dependents to single when our son grew up and can confirm single professionals got fucked by 2018. Holy shit what a difference.
I'm especially fucked because 2018 also changed the tax burden for alimony. It used to be the person getting spousal support paid taxes on what they received, now the payer is responsible.

Married, filing jointly. Ours also did not get lower as a result of this tax bill. It was similar to prior years.

Another instance of "It's not a problem if it never gets reported." Just like covid numbers.
"Nothing bad can happen, it can only good happen"

Republic - government as a public matter.
Literally should be illegal for a republic to hide information from the public. That information belongs to the people because the government does too.
Whoever is hiding this should spend the rest of their miserable fucking lives locked away in a prison.

They found a loophole: they just ignore the parts they don't like and nothing happens. Laws don't mean anything if there's no way to enforce them and no consequences for those who ignore them.

I still don't believe the IRS has the infrastructure, manpower, or resources, to keep after even half the taxpayers in this country, & they're largely saved by the fact that the rest of us are still (foolishly) playing this game on the honor system. Realistically, what could they even do in the event of a national tax strike?
And now with these new changes elsewhere to do with COMPASS, SNAP and the like, where they expect everyone to turn in what amounts to weekly internship hours to prove they work 25 hours every week? The US government doesn't have the fucking resources to police all this shit. They're banking on all of us just going along. They don't deserve such compliance anymore, the public trust is decimated. We keep making it easy for these shits and we need to reevaluate.

Realistically, what could they even do in the event of a national tax strike?
Most of the responses to individuals not paying their taxes are automated. They will send out late notices, charge you penalties and interest, drain your bank account, require your employer to adjust your withholdings, and garnish your wages with minimal manual human intervention.
The US government can remain solvent longer then you can stop them from getting what they are owed.

u/No-Garbage6027 8h ago
To add on, a tax strike would require a metric crap ton of employees to file new W-4s so companies like ADP stop withholding. Not socially possible.
•
u/ComradeJohnS 7h ago
and then they can just make a new law stating avoiding taxes is gay, and arrest people for it.
it would happen the minute they thought it was even catching on as a thought crime lol.
we would need states to stop playing and see how that goes.

They did a horrible job of timing it. Letters have already went out before midterms warning telling people their SNAP will be cut, their Medicaid will be cut, and health insurance premiums will go up.

It cannot stay hidden forever. And it needs to be made so simplified anyone can understand exactly how they screwed over the middle class and its children's futures!

This is what pedo republicans want, they bury the truth and prevail through lies. They are against democracy and will only serve their elite ring, fucking every citizen over for it.

Must make the current administration look bad otherwise that orange idiot would be bragging about it. So they won’t release this until after midterms

Is there anyone left in the US Government who doesn’t bow to King Trump? How do you replace 100s of thousands of compromised government workers when he’s finally jailed?

u/Mundane-Evidence2795 2h ago
Not just tax cuts. Probably the biggest impact personally is the discontinuation of healthcare subsidy that was extended during COVID. Our $349/month bill went to $2499/month for a family of four. Not that we can afford that or anything.

I am still amazed how the right-wing is incapable of original thoughts (*) and how much they can't handle intelligently-named bills pushed by normal people. The 2021 "Build Back Better" (the real "BBB") Act was aptly named bill that perfectly described what they were trying to do, after the orange one trashed the USA's economy.
I guess president miller & co wanted to ruin the "BBB" acronym forever or, because they already had a history of reusing existing acronyms because they can't think of anything new by themselves, they were just dumb & lazy.
(*) The orange one re-used the "MAGA" slogan that reagan employed, itself being a bad attempt to recycle the "Make Britain Great Again" slogan used by effing maggie over in the UK.
