Our tax system is so dumb. We have to file for something the government knows we make to make sure we are being honest? But don’t worry about those that hide money or the billionaires that don’t have to pay their fair share. Someone make it make sense

The government frequently does not know, especially if you aren’t W-2 or have investments

This is probably only true for cash, if you put it in a bank it feels like every little thing happening in your account is reportable
