Discussion Auto turret vertical range

If you place an auto turrets on a roof, what is its vertical range? Can a turret on a two story building hit folks on the ground?

Does it need a ramp to “aim” it downwards?

Line of site lol. Yeah, it has full line of sight. Depending on where it's pointing, it'll target track faster, so you wanna point it where you're expecting "visitors."

They will look down or up easily with no ramps.

If you put it on a grate floor, can it shoot thru the floor? (Presumably with added protection from the floor grate)

It can shoot through chainlink fences. I think it will hit the metal of a floor grate though, unless it aims directly in the gap

Not sure about floor grates. Dont see them too often, worth a test it might.

Perfect. So it’s truly line of site. Thanks.

also, to what is said here, also remember that it only can "detect" people in front of it. if it started tracking someone, then it can go 360. but detection is only done in front of it (i dont exactly remember the angle, but i think is 120°).

The detection range is 180° and after it detects i think yea it can go 360

It probably is 180 degrees based on the current direction it's looking at, at the moment is swiffels this 180 degrees view moves with it. When timed correctly you could get close from the side.

I believe it's something like this:

Well rust console is going slowly to pc obviously and like a year+ ago they added electricals range bubbles, igniter has it, sprinklers, heaters, turrets. So as a pc player imma say we have it and since console is working its way slowly, saying FP doesnt work on console it will reach that state. Eventually.
