🏒❌ PUCK OFF, DALLAS STARS!

On Sunday, November 1st, Revolutionary Front DFW, DSA North Texas, and Sunrise Dallas will host a town hall on the Dallas Stars’ proposed Plano stadium. This taxpayer-subsidized initiative would funnel $700 million to a massive corporation, while burdening the city with hidden costs, increased congestion, and significant debt.

With election day right around the corner, and the future of the stadium on the ballot, it’s essential that we equip ourselves with the facts, so we can convince as many people to vote NO as possible. Please attend for an afternoon filled with education, discussion, and free food!

🗓️ Sunday, November 1st @ 1:30 PM

We've all seen the flyers and texts from the Stars PAC stating "Proposition A: Not a tax increase". But their own filing document tells the real story, stating "Tax increase for multipurpose arena for professional or amatuer sports". The ballot text is clear, "CITY OF PLANO, TEXAS PROPOSITION A: THIS IS A TAX INCREASE".

The PAC's September Campaign Finance Report shows it received $202K, all from the Stars. They're using that money to fill your mailbox with flyers, your phone with texts, and now they are hiring people (including some from out of state) to hand out door hangers. This is an attempt to sway your vote so Plano commits your tax dollars to build an arena they will get the profit from.

If this were already a done deal, why would the Stars spend so much trying to convince you? Early voting starts Monday 19 Oct, get out and vote AGAINST Plano Prop A.

And yes, they also spelled amateur wrong in their filing document.

Parker was closed completely west bound this morning just past Preston. Coming home I see it’s still only opened up to one lane. Anyone know what’s up? Hoping not to be delayed on the commute tomorrow morning

With Halloween on a Saturday night this year, I am looking to make the best of it. Does anyone know of any public Grown-Up Halloween parties/events happening on Halloween night in Collin County? My friends and I are going to the Oaklawn Halloween party on October 24th. However, we are still figuring out plans for the 31st. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm looking for a coffee shop or anything similar that has generous seating and is a good place to chat. I need to meet someone for a serious discussion but would like to do it in a public setting with some privacy (for example, the tables aren't too close together and there are several options like a patio, couches, etc.). Ideally it would be counter-service only; I don't want to be distracted by a server frequently checking on us.

I'm open to the areas surrounding Plano as well.

If anyone in the Plano / Richardson area that knows how to fix a Sewing machine or likes to sew and would like to teach me . 🙈💖

Moving into a house near Legacy West next month and looking for a reliable house cleaning service for regular bi weekly upkeep. I work long hours and would prefer a company with background checked cleaners where scheduling is straightforward online. Anyone in Plano have long term recommendations for companies or local services that show up on time and do solid work?

I have 2 rooms to rent out with an office space in Plano. Any recommendations on best way to post and where?
