https://youtu.be/bXUrsUMwo5w

This is part 2 of my vision of Plan 9 as an Infinity Notebook. This focuses on the developer tools.

This is cool. I've been following your work here, I really like how you're making modernisations to Plan 9 but not changing the feel or what Plan 9 is really about.

Does plan9 have python?

A very old version, 2.x. I’d like to see a 3.x port, but my main python project also relies on PostgreSQL, so I haven’t been terribly motivated. :-/

Interesting, I hadn't heard of this. Have you tried it on Plan 9?

Their comments about the many C core modules are unsurprising, but likely make it not directly useful for my bug existing project, but it's good to know about for other potential things.

No.

In the same vein: I've always thought 9front would be a cool Klipper host, even if just for the sake of every printer not being a whole-ass RaspberryPiOS on an SD card. It uses C modules for the lower robotics stuff though. (I mean on the host/Linux/Pi side. It goes without saying the RT-RPC puppet side would be entirely C that only gcc can compile, and who cares because that's flashed once and never touched again -- the protocol never changes. It's way more asymmetric than a Blit-and-VAX application.)

Plan9 has golang, c, inferno, and a host of real languages. But its stronger with 9p and rc. Much of what one does in python can be done better with less code in the shell.
