In a dink rally I am player A , I push player C to the back trying to setup an erne , hence I am watching the line. ( Or I have a failed attempt at an erne) However if player C manages to hit the ball between me and My partner Player B, who should intercept that?
Most of my partners tell that I ( Player A) should take that ( my right hand), but my argument is I already took a shot on my left side and watching the ball on line, it's not possible for me to take the shot immediately on the right.
What should be the strategy here? Should my partner B crowd the T as soon as I push C back and take the middle one OR I am smoking weed expecting that much from my partner??

Getting paired with a new partner and having almost no time to build chemistry is one of the most common problems in pickleball and it doesn't matter if you're a pro or a rec player.
Most people use their warm up to get their own strokes loose. If you're playing with someone new, you should be watching them. Which side do they favor? Do they reset or counterattack? Are they a banger or a grinder? The more info you can gather here, the better!
Figure out the middle early. Hesitation kills more points than both players going for the same ball. I'd rather see two people clash paddles than neither of them move. Talk about it! Decide early! Say it out loud!
Talk constantly!! Silence is the enemy of chemistry. It doesn't matter if every call is right. What matters is that you're communicating and adjusting!
And when things go sideways (they will) don't blame. Just adjust. The second you point fingers, whatever chemistry you had is gone.
Check out the full breakdown 👊

Hello, does anyone have any tips, exercises, or apps/websites that randomly show me a signal to react to? Often when playing I’ll be at the kitchen and I can see the opposition are about to lob the hall but I freeze. It’s frustrating as I’m not surprised, just stuck.
I don’t have access to a court nearby that would allow me to practice court drills but I do have access to gym.
Thank you

Simple question, just wondering if the DUPR global percentile is accurate. At 3.9 I’m a top 14 percentile player? Maybe it’s just because I played in college, and those tournaments weren’t segregated by DUPR ratings so I’m used to playing people that MAJORLY outmatch me, but I was under the assumption that I was like an average player at best. Y’all think this might be just marketing to get people to buy DUPR + when the 2 weeks are up?

I’ve been playing since April and I’ve lost 45 pounds. Started at 225 currently sitting at 180. 20 pounds away from my goal. I play 5-6 days a week and sometimes mornings and evenings. Safe to say I’m obsessed

Started playing in March and quickly got addicted. At first, I was terrible, but I am figuring it out and have turned some corners of late and recently got invited to sub in an advanced player league where I did pretty well.
The other night, I was playing open play with some of the cliquey better players where I play and I was playing really well for me. My partner was good and better than me but, together, we were really doing well. After one of our wins, I quickly left the court to grab my water on the next court. In the seconds I was away, the group of three people, invited someone else to take my place and, as I was feet away from re-entering the court, they closed the gate on me right in my face. Nobody said a word and it seemed deliberate.
I talked to a pickleball mentor and he suggested maybe they didn’t like “how I was playing” and they probably only like “good games.” I make sure to not be boastful or mean or smash directly at people. I’m encouraging to both my partner and opponents. I don’t cheat. I just love the game and the exercise. It just seems that they didn’t like to play with me when I was a rookie because of all the errors, but, now, I’m getting to be as good as them and they don’t like that either.
If my mentor was right, what does he mean? What can I do with my game to make it less likely for better players to bar me from the court even after I win? The only thing I can think of is maybe initiate more dink rallies? More drives, less drops? More drops, less drives? I’m kind of puzzled.

We visit Scottsdale often but have not found a good place to play. Where are people playing 3.5+ for open play that does not require a long term membership?

I've been so overwhelmed by the number of paddles on the market and all these types of cores and materials. I need help deciphering the different types of materials and grits I've been playing a Juciao Spin 1.0 for about a year and a half, and before that I had a Selkirk Halo. I loved both of those paddles.
I bought a Gruvn full foam paddle earlier this year after a few YouTubers recommended it. Huge mistake. I absolutely hate the paddle. It feels like a wood paddle. Very poppy with a ton of power, but I play so inconsistently with it. It just stays in my bag.
I wish I could play with a paddle before purchasing. I want a paddle plays like my Juciao. I'm between a 3,0 and 3.5 DUPR.
I don't want a paddle that has a more plush feel but also has decent power. Everyone keeps raving about this new RPM jade but it's hard to justify spending that much money sight unseen.
What should I be looking for in terms of core material to give me a plusher or softer feel ?

Keep getting a couple of complaints that my drop serve is illegal because it is not above waist. It is mostly from those who struggle to pick my drop serve with a deep spin. I tell tem that the only requirement in a drop serve is that the feet have to be outside the court. The waist line logic doesn't apply. Welcome the community feedback and confirmation

Hi! New pickleball player here and I’m going to a pickleball kingdom nearby me to do some open play! I have never done something like this before so I am just wondering if there are any tips you guys can give me on etiquette or how to join games and get groups established! Thanks

Quite often, after playing for 2 to 3 hours, I get knee joint stiffness and soreness that lasts for a while. Sometimes a pinched nerve or maybe it is a micro muscle tear. I am not sure. But, what is your favorite exercise or routine that minimizes knee pain and related stiffness from pickleball? Are there any particular changes that I should do to the way I actually play the game, the way I stand, how much I try too hard to get to difficult shots etc.? I love the game but knee joint related pains are making it more difficult to play more often.

Currently taking classes, and 201 Advanced Beginner classes. I drill every week at my local outdoor court. I’m in a 2.5 - 3.0 DUPR league and I play with the same people every week. How do I get better? I lost 8 matches last night and I’m really frustrated. I feel like I play okay but I’m not getting any better. I feel like My serves and returns are okay but my serves are not deep enough. And my footwork needs work. And I also have trouble choosing which shots to use. And I feel like I’m too stiff on the courts. I have been playing for about 5-6 months. What are some tips for a beginner and to win more casual games? Thanks.

Hey all- after talking to a few people, noticed there’s not many games happening during weekday daytimes in LA. Would love to start putting together some singles and doubles games at the intermediate level for those of us with unconventional/daytime available schedule, or even lunchtime games.
Shoot me a pm or reply if you’re interested!
