Morning folks!

I just wanted to get this posted as a resource for job seekers.

The PHXWorks program provides free access to assistance for resume/cover letters, interview skills, and career exploration through virtual workshops and in person classes.

They host Employer Spotlight Events where you can talk directly to local businesses.

There is even in person, drop-in help available at the Ocatillo Library Mon-Fri 2-5 pm.

If you are having difficulty getting getting interviews or finding places to apply to please, please, please take advantage of this stuff. Every tiny thing that gives you an advantage helps.

New resources and information are still being added, so check back frequently.

If you have any questions about anything, leave a comment and I will do my best to answer.

Thanks!

For Hire Operations, Accounting, Finance

Hi everyone!

I'm currently job hunting in the Phoenix area and hoping to get some leads on companies that may be hiring.

I have about 10 years of experience in gaming and cash operations, including casino soft count/accounting and sportsbook operations. I've held supervisory positions with experience in cash management, reconciliations, internal controls, compliance, and daily operations.

I'm also pursuing my bachelor's degree in Accounting and hoping to transition into accounting, banking, financial operations, or something similar. I'm open to operations and supervisory roles as well.

I've been applying for several months with very little luck getting interviews, so I'm hoping someone might have suggestions for companies or positions I haven't considered.

I'm located in the West Valley but open to opportunities throughout the Phoenix metro area.

Any leads or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hiring Babysitter needed for 10/10

I’m looking to hire a babysitter for Saturday night, October 10. You would be caring for a five year-old autistic boy. He is verbal, but not potty trained Hours are 7 PM till midnight. You’ll be arriving before nighttime routines but he’ll be allowed to have tablet time so all you’ll really be doing is making sure he doesn’t leave the house hurt himself or giving him drinks and snacks as needed. Depending on how well you and he get along, this could become a biweekly gig. Offering $100 willing to negotiate.

Question Call Centers in the NPhx Area?

I've been looking through Indeed and ZipRecruiter lately for call center jobs— specifically, customer service and account management positions. I've worked at Terminix, LRS Rentpath, ChargePoint and I remember places like Waste Management and Discover Card that were big employers for good ole fashioned call center work.

Lately I see absolutely NOTHING of the sort! The only places I see are for various unknown home improvement/contracting companies, and appointment setting bullshit. Where are the call center ads!?

Does anyone know where I can find a good list of call centers to apply at, or what job board I'm missing?

Thank you!

Question Apprenticeships

Are there any apprenticeship programs open and looking for someone? I’m coming from an IT background with maintenance/hydraulic/mechanical power trains experience from school. I am sick of working in an office and want to build a skill and career. I don’t even care what trade as long as I can work with my hands and get OT. I’ve been applying everywhere but no luck

For Hire Looking for work with bad resume

I pretty much haven't done anything but physical labor in the past.
I stopped doing that about 6 years ago because I was getting too beat up to keep going.
I don't have a good job history and no marketable skills really.
Any tips on where to get started? I'd need something with nothing more than light physical activity. Preferably something where I could listen to audio books haha.
It's not exactly crippling, or preventing me from working. But I do have generalized anxiety and even the thought of applying for a job right now feels like a huge task. I'm not even sure how to start with paperwork.

For Hire Tech support or web dev?

I was laid off about 3 weeks ago and after applying for 50+ jobs and not receiving a single email or phone call I’m starting to get scared. I know my resume isn’t terrible, 3 years experience with my old company as a contactable reference. Maybe my salary expectations are too high? 55k…

Question Any admin or hr roles?

Hello! I currently have over two years of experience in HR as an HR admin assistant, along with a Bachelors in Psychology. I am also half way through my Masters in I/O psychology. I’ve been having a hard time finding mid level roles as an HR coordinator, generalist, and/or HR administrator. Most postings require prior experience in the specific role or over 4 years of experience in HR. I always end up getting through to an introductory interview, but can’t seem to move past that. Are there other titles I should look into? I’m very confident in my ability to learn new systems, and I’m a fast learner in general. Any insight is appreciated!

Question part time jobs near central phoenix/south scottsdale?

Currently work full time and looking for another job to get some extra money to save up for some classes im trying to take next year and pay off some debt. It seems like there’s not many places that will hire me atleast for 2 days a week friday and saturday.

I currently work at a hospital, but not much in pay. I only have front desk experience, serving but that was years ago for a short bit, and worked as a non certified nursing aid for 2 summers when i was in school. I have a science degree in psychology. Willing to be trained in anything that can even get me a certificate without me having to extra money right now. Saving up to try to go back to school for nursing or something else in healthcare that’s just a year of schooling.
I took a phlebotomy class in another state years ago where it wasn’t required to take the national exam as long as i took the class at a community college. However i wasn’t able to get hired in that due to lack of experience— willing to even do part time phlebotomy if there’s any place that can retrain me.

My current job pays $18/hr, looking for anything that can pay me a little more than that.
