Help! Is it possible to make ASCII art in photoshop using NO outside sources?

Post image

Hi! I’m brand new to photoshop and my first big assignment is creating a desktop wallpaper, I found some inspiration that I want to emulate but no tutorials that I’ve found show me how to make an ASCII effect only in photoshop - they keep telling me to use a generator.

I need to find a tutorial to follow along to and have the link in my final assignment so my prof can double check that I’ve done everything correctly. HELP!

I've built something that could replace infinite layer styles packs and styling plugins/actions.
It is a web tool so no installations needed. Lot of modifiers and assets too

Help! how to properly make the MW2 (2009) in-game dialogue subtitles in Photoshop?

I know the font's ITC Conduit, and also that there seems to be some sort of shadow effect to make it easer to distinguish due to contrast, but what puzzles me the most is that there seems to be some sort of subtle but noticeable glow effect on the green part with the name.

How do I properly emulate the subtitles from MW2 in Photoshop? Is there more stuff I should know?

Hey Reddit. I am currently experiencing this frustrating work-stopping bug, where Photoshop 2024 and 2025 editions will not allow me to save a blank document. (see picture). The saving window appears blank.

Ive tried restarting pc, and it keeps happening. Any work arounds would be most helpful, as its driving me batty and wasting me morning.

Help! How to achieve a risograph effect

I'm trying to achieve a printed, risograph effect similar to whats in these photos. This artist (Sophy Hollington) does actual risograph printing, so obviously that would be the solution. But I'm wondering if there's a way to do this in photoshop with text and illustrations?

Help! Photoshop Mobile. Can I still pay for PS Express only?

Hi. As above. In the app only upgrade I see is for £99 which includes PS Express + Adobe Express + Generative Credits. When I check my previous subscriptions there is option to subscribe to PS Express only for 29.99 I think. Will this go through? I really would like just PS Express not extras.

Help! Full screen mode conflicting with opacity sliders and makes Windows PC freak out

Maybe a minor gripe in the grand scheme of the beautiful program we call Photoshop, but it is a gripe that has lasted versions among versions.

Let me set the scene: I go to adjust the opacity of a layer. Then, I want to view the project I am working on in full, because my screen only allows me so much. Plus, viewing it in full screen mode is the optimal way of viewing a project you have spent hours laboriously tinkering with.

Easy enough, right? Wrong. Actually, it's so far from the truth, you wouldn't believe it.

You see, for whatever reason, the opacity slider input box STAYS SELECTED whenever you go to go into full screen mode, sending your Windows computer into what I can only describe as "high alert, sound all the alarms" mode. It YELLS at you for this simple mistake. Pictured below is the state that the opacity input field stays in, no matter how many times you click into the artboard area with no layer control buttons toggled.

My current workaround is to set full screen preview mode to a separate hotkey (now ctrl + F, as I never used the "find" feature) to fully override the selection, then gloriously spamming F to satisfy my ADHD filled desires to move as quickly as possible through these preview menus.

If anyone else has had this problem and can relate and/or help, I would love to hear and see if you have come up with to bypass this problem.

This is my personal hell. I guess life isn't all too bad if this is the worst thing going for me.

TLDR: Opacity input field stays selected after adjusting, will not allow full screen preview mode to activate.

Solved Can digital art for printing be upscaled?

Hi, I'm new to digital art. I had a commission for the art being printed and I think I messed up.

Requirement - The art needs to be printed in 12"\12" size synthetic sheet (i think that's what's it is called. One is for a photo album cover and the other is for inside the album)*

I had the final print size correct, but now after finishing it all, i realised that it is done in 72ppi..... Form what I read up,it needs it to be 300ppi for good quality print.

Deep down I know that it can't be fixed and needs to be redrawn, but i really hope there's a fix for this ... Please help me experts 😭😭

Help! Working with Curves/Color Adjustments

I am trying to learn to work with Curves.

1.) The Input value is supposed to show the value before a change is made to the Curve. However, I plot a control point on the curve and it shows the input value, though as I drag on the point, the output value changes, and so does the input value. Why does it do this if the input is supposed to be the value before the change was made?

2.) How effective is working with the RGB channels in Curves for adding any colors that you like to an image? Are the RGB channels only for changing color casts? OR can you somehow mix colors to come up with any color you want? Or is it just really intended to work with adding/subtracting red/cyan, green/magenta, blue/yellow?

TIA

Help! Circles around halo

Hi everyone, i’m trying to remove the circles created around a halo but I can’t. The halo is made by masking, gradient map, blur.
I’m afraid it’s because the background is black so you see every imperfection, but it’s weird anyway. Can anybody help with this?

Help! Picture looks different when exported

the first version is a screen from photoshop, the second what comes out when exported. I tried every advice I could find here, since its a pretty common problem. It does the same thing when i flatten all the layers, or export via web. Everything is in rgb.

I guess the screen could work but i cannot use photoshop on it since it'll make the same results.

Hey all, I made a plugin that allows people to use 3D mannequins within Photoshop; I hope it will be helpful to artists and beginners who want to learn anatomy. NB:All the mannequins featured here were made by the author from scratch using 3D software, and the assets were also made from scratch.

Help! Is there any way to basically one-click/one-drag diagonal text boxes?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Basically, I need to do this a hundred times for a map I'm putting together. The given titles aren't large enough for the size of map I'm printing so I'm going to just re-do it. My issue is it's going to destroy me to do every one horizontal and then tilting, or needing to draw a path to type on. Is there truly no way to just make a diagonal field, type, and move on? I've done enough 'complicated,' stuff but I've never had to do this mass-scale kind of trivial stuff before : {

Help! Adding Person to Photo Post Mortem - Help with realism

Post image
0 Upvotes

I am working with a freelancer on fiverr to add a passed away family member to a photo.
Almost all my request have been completed perfectly, and he has gotten so much out of the flawed source material I provided. Just one thing we can't quite work out even after a revision. I am looking for guidance on how to communicating with the person, not to replace them or receive free work here.

I think the added person still stands out and is obviously added in. Can someone here chime in and help me put into words what is wrong? I suspect the lighting on her face is still too cold compared to the rest.
Or maybe am I overly critical of this work? Is it a matter of skill of the freelancer? My goal is realism if possible.

Thank you for your help.

Artwork / Design the struggles and hardships we face throughout our lives

Post image
16 Upvotes

When I first started working on this image, I had no idea what I was going to put together. I opened Unsplash and started browsing randomly until I came across a photo of a road. I added it to the composition, tried to silence all my doubts, and just let my instincts take over.

Then I came across a sofa and placed it in the middle of the road. After that, I added a dramatic sky, a girl, and a man facing away from the viewer, with only his back visible.

At that point, the idea suddenly became crystal clear to me: the struggles and hardships we face throughout our lives, from the moment we're born until the very end.

I represented obstacles with a man dressed in black, with his head on fire, and innocence with children's toys and an old TV playing cartoons.

I adjusted the lighting, shadows, and perspective to make sure the girl was the first thing that caught the viewer's eye.

I genuinely enjoyed this whole experience.
