Statistics [Cory Nidoh] Aidan Miller’s plate discipline has been superb to start the AFL. Three more walks tonight pushes him up to 10 in 5 games. Leads league with .500 OBP and 2nd with 1.506 OPS. #Phillies

Start him at 3B in 2027

He could be starting at SS if they move Trea to the outfield

Works too, though I’d like to see Rincon at SS in 2028 (if his bat holds up in AAA)

It’s possible he could be at short and then Miller could be at second should Bryson Stott is made available for trades. I can see the Phillies definitely landing Teruaki Sato if Alec Bohm walks (he will), so the starting infield could be, should these things happen:
1B - Bryce Harper
2B - Aidan Miller
SS - Bryan Rincon
3B - Teruaki SatoThis is my own personal outlook and likely not the one that will happen, though

I’d love Sato (see my flair lol) but I’d prefer him in RF, I’ve heard his defense at 3B is not stellar. Miller 3B, Rincon SS, Stott 2B have epic potential defensively and offensively. Or swap Stott and Miller.
But more likely we will need a stopgap guy in the infield, or we end up suffering another year of Turner at SS. I don’t have a whole lot of faith in the FO to do anything substantial.

Agree on the Sato take. I could be wrong but heard he also has a cannon arm which would be nice in RF. I think the 2B conversation should be had with Trea. That would lessen the pressure on BOTH Miller and Rincon hitting the ground running in the majors. And it’s a happy medium of getting Trea off of SS but not relegating him to the outfield.

It’s definitely worth discussing. Luckily Stott is a defensive beast everywhere so that opens up a lot of options.

The AFL is notoriously known for being hitter-friendly. Yes, he is doing well, but let's tone it down a bit until he sees big-league pitching.
