/u/ZeroOne_01 set up a Peugeot discord server which is relatively active. They have experience with servicing Peugeots and Citroens and may be able to answer any technical questions you have.

I've had to make this new post as you can't sticky links.

Anyway here's the discord invite link:

3 cylinder PSA engines (EB series) warranty (Oiled belt) UPDATE

Hi everyone! On the Spanish CarWOW channel they just broke news about a new warranty extension to all 3 cylinder petrol PSA Puretech engines, the ones with the oiled belt decomposition issues. They'll be extending the warranty to 10 years or 170k km as long as you have done the service intervals in time (and can prove it with invoices and such) without the need to had have them done at the official dealership as it is illegal under EU law to do so in order to void warranties.

The video specifies that the engine will be covered for that amount, as well as a new change for the service interval of the belt. Also, it only affects the 3 cylinder variants, and will be retroactive, with the last engine covered being from summer 2022, when hybrid tech was launched.

There is no information on what will happen to those who carried out the proper maintenance intervals and still got a huge repair bill; if that money will be reimbursed or not.

DLC connector 1996 Peugeot 306

The check engine light on my 306 suddenly appeared although I do not notice any difference in the engine sounds/ how it runs. I wanted to read the codes but because this is a pre 1997 306 there is no OBD port. I have found multiple cables in my engine bay which could be the DLC port but none in the exact location/colour as I can find online.

Picture 1 is where it should be (according to an online source)

Picture 2 and 3 are some cables I suspect could be the DLC connections. None of these 3 are plugged into anything and are just plugged by a rubber cap. The blue one is the only one of these 3 that actually has 2 pins inside so it is my only guess right now.

Has anyone had a similar issue?

Disable brake hold?

2008 / 1,2 /eats / 2018.

The car has a function to hold the brake for like 1 sec after the brake is released. I get that it's for preventing the car rolling backwards when starting in slope, but I find it mostly annoying. So my question is that if it would be possible to have that function disabled though reprogramming?

RCZ 4th bolt battery frame accessibility

FYI, if you need to replace the thermostat housing of your peugeot (RCZ in my case) or need acces below the flat metal frame beneath the battery housing: the fourth bolt which is on the side of the wheel, can be removed without having to remove the wheel altogether. Altough I do have to mention that your arms and hands need to be small enough to access the bolt through the opening created by removing the wheel arch (also by putting your arm through the wheel openings). I don't know which fool thought this was a good design choice, but it is possible.

Can I mount roof bars on a 306 Rallye

As far as I can tell the 3 door 306s came with mounting holes under the weather stripping to allow roof bars like the ones I've linked to be mounted.

Can anyone confirm (or point me in the direction of someone who can) if the Rallye specifically had these mounting points, and thus that roof bars can be mounted.

Also yes I appreciate it's strange to want to throw roof bars on a 90s lightweight special but there ya have it.

And for context no I do not own a 306 yet but I'm currently in the market.

Help on a throttle body ?

Hello good people of Reddit and Peugeot nerds, I need help to finalise my 106 Xsi build !
I have put a TU5JP4 from a 307 in my 106, everything is nice and tight BUT I can’t find the one throttle body for it,
Originally it’s an electronic one, but I wanted to keep it simple and stay with the cable system from the 106, everyone tells me it need a 206 s16 throttle body but I can’t find the reference for the one with cable system and the good bolt pattern, even bought a 3D printed thing to supposedly make fit the model who should go there but I’m really stuck on this point.

If anyone got anything, please help I’m starting to go nuts, Reddit my last option.
Thanks everyone !

I first noticed this 3 years ago when i got the car. Thought nothing of it and thought it was normal but now i'm not so sure as it seems to have more buildup and a straight oil line down on it. Is it the intercooler down there? Spitting oil?

Peugeot 108 1.2 engine light issue

I recently traded in my old toyota for a 2015 peugeot 108 with the 1.2 engine/wet belt and boy am i thinking it was a mistake. The day after buying the car the engine light came on. Then went off. Then on again. So i take it to my mechanic, he said it’s a timing belt problem and it needed replaced. The trade i bought it from changed the belt and fully replaced the oil. Drove it home all fine. Next day I turn the car on again and the engine light is back on… what should i do?

2018 Peugeot 3008 GT Line – Rear Seat Belt Buckle Replacement Wiring Advice Needed

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

I have a 2018 Peugeot 3008 GT Line, and the rear driver's-side seat belt buckle has failed. I believe this may be a common issue with the buckle, where a plastic clip breaks and prevents the seat belt from locking securely.

I managed to source a second-hand replacement buckle from a breaker’s yard. However, when the part arrived, I discovered that the electrical connector plug was missing.

My question is: does anyone have a wiring diagram or information on how to connect the replacement buckle to the existing wiring plug? Any advice on completing the repair safely, without causing any additional electrical faults or issues, would be greatly appreciated.

Both the original and replacement buckles have a single two-core wire coming from them. I have attached images of the replacement part for reference.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is my battery dying?

Hi all. I have a 2020 5008 petrol.

Stop/start stopped working a couple of months ago (the A light blinks a few times, disappears, and the engine keeps running) and every now and then the starter goes on for a bit too long (about 5 seconds) before the engine starts in the morning. Is this my battery telling me that it's time to replace it?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Owners of the Peugeot 308 II 1.2 PureTech

Hello, owners of the Peugeot 308 II 1.2 PureTech!
What are your opinions on this car? Are you happy with it overall?
I currently own a 2021 Peugeot 3008 with the 1.2 PureTech engine, and I haven’t had any issues with the wet timing belt or oil consumption.
Am I right in thinking that the older PureTech engines mainly had problems because of the early versions of the timing belt?
I’m currently considering buying a 2014 Peugeot 308 II 1.2 PureTech Allure as a commuter car for work. It has had only two owners since new, has always been serviced at Peugeot dealerships, and has just had a new timing belt and water pump fitted.
It has around 100,000 km (62,000 miles) on the clock.
Would you consider this a good buy? I’d appreciate hearing about your experiences with reliability, common issues, fuel economy, and overall ownership satisfaction!

What the actual f### is peugeot up to. This new "steering wheel" will come to the 208 in 2027. It literally looks like dogsht. Like a stone slab from someone's garden with 4 cup holders drilled in to it
